With many communities involving dronification, it is important to recognize that is simply what they are—kinks and roleplaying. People make up these communities and (although try as we might!) most of us aren’t really the robots we are trying to depict.

That out of the way, if you do want engage with dronification, there’s certainly a lot of ways you can go about it.

I believe a fair amount of people in the drone community put on a sense of corporate or otherwise worldwide domination that seeks to dronify individuals. Others might prefer small hives. Others also can be a single drone who’s not part of any established hive. Make it your best experience.

The costume certainly plays a big part for a lot of people. When they cover up most or all of their skin with an opaque shiny black outfit, it becomes a lot easier for them to enter a different headspace where they don’t really imagine themselves as quite human anymore.

That being said, there isn’t a certain way you have to act or dress. The catsuit, headphones, and gas mask are not a necessity if you don’t want/don’t have the means to acquire them. Plus, that’s not the only thing you have to wear. Anything is perfectly fine.
