An Etymological Dictionary of the Agori Language
Today is “BIOnicle Day” (August 10, 8/10, get it?), and a lot of people are taking the opportunity to contribute to the community in the form of art, creative expression, ?memes?, discussion, and general bioniclestry.
It’s been a long time since I posted anything significant, so in anticipation of the day, I’ve been working on something new: a fleshed out version of the language of the Agori/Glatorian/Spherus Magnans. This includes
an etymological dictionary breaking down the meanings/origins of all known Bionicle names c2009-10
a grammar of the Agori language providing the basics to construct sentences
a treatise on the reconstruction of older forms of the Agori language and Spherus Magnan languages in general (Agori dialects, Skrall, and Praetar, the language of the Great Beings).
It’s come a long way from the material I posted over four years ago, but at this point I feel like the project is in good enough shape to release. There’s a slight twist too: Instead of posting a link to a static .pdf as I did with the Matoran Dictionary, I’m posting my actual work-document in the form of a Google Doc. You can access it at the link below.
Agori Language Dictionary / Etymology / Grammar (2019)
Going forward, you’ll likely catch me fiddling around in the doc, adding and revising things...possibly forever. Enjoy.
