Dan, looked down at his wrist watch and smiled. You would be out of your class very soon. In the back, the picnic basket was closed but filled to the brim with foods and drinks that the two of you enjoyed. Dan had made sure to even pack some of your favorite chocolate chip cookies.
He felt the prickled of your energy even more before he caught sight of you in his rear view mirror. Getting out of the car, he went to lean against the passenger door.
He was thrilled to surprise you like this! The two of you needed this little getaway even if it was just for the afternoon.
“Dan!” He heard you call out!
Turning, he smiled broadly at you. “Hi there honey.” He stretched out his arms as you leapt into them. Inhaled deeply your sweet scent.
“What are you doing here?” Your brow wrinkled. “Is everything ok?” You looked past him and once against in the car. into the car
“I came to sweep you away for a little picnic for just the two of us.”
“Dan.” You whispered, looking around. “I have class.”
He gave you a playful smile. “Skip it this one time.”
Surprise came over you but then you smiled and looked around one last time. “Ok!”
“Great.” Pulling back he opened the passenger door and you slipped in.
He got behind the wheel and soon the two of you were off.
He glanced over, “So how are you doing?” The last three days, he knew you had tackled two papers along with a midterm. He had pulled doubles. Being busy had been the name of the game.
You sighed and stretched, he loved seeing and feeling as you relaxed beside him.
“I am so much better now.” You beamed over at him. “I am finally all done with my work.”
He glanced over. “Happy to hear. I am too! No more doubles and I even have all of today off.”
“Oo” He loved how occasionally you’d just be so expressive with your happiness. “I was planning on coming over after class to see if you wanted dinner or something.”
“Well, I beat you to it! And I even prepared all of that?”
You looked back. “Is that really a picnic basket all packed up for us?”
He nodded is. “With all of our favorites!”
They started to climb closer towards the lake.
“Dan,” He caught you glancing around. “Where are we headed?”
He smirked. “You can’t tell?”
“Wait…” Your excitement. “Are we headed to the lake?”
“You guessed it!”

The gravel crunched under the wheels as he pulled up. Getting out of the car, he went over and opened the for you.
He beamed, made a grand sweeping gesture. “Look at this.” He whispered. Wrapping an arm around you, he pulled you close.
The sun twinkled and sparkled as it danced across the surface of the water. It was a warm day with a gentle breeze that rustled the boughs of the pine trees and rich deep leaves of the oak and maple trees.
“This is so lovely.” You whispered back beaming up at him.
He took your hand, he led you down to the large rock where the two of you had first kissed.
“This is wonderful Dan.”
“I hoped it would be.” He smoothed the blanket.
You leaned against him. “What a perfect day.”
He pressed a kiss to your bare shoulder. “It’s not over yet.”

“Dan, give me that strawberry!” You giggled exasperated.
You captured his hand and finally took a bite to the stem.
“Hey! You almost nipped me.” He pretended to be outraged.
“I better make it up to you.” You gently took his hand and kissed his fingertips. As your eyes met you, he enjoyed seeing the fire in them. He moved and was kissing you then.
Soon, you were under him and your kisses deepen as your fingers nestled in his hair. He inhaled sharply as an image of you envisioning the two of them skinny-dipping floated from you and washed over him as if it was actually happening.
“Dan?” Your eyes met his questioning. He found it adorable your nervousness the prickled at him. He was convinced that you had some level of shining you were just way to good at all of this projection.
“Yes, honey?”
“Do you remember what I told you?” You rose yourself up on your elbows.
He smiled. “When?” He ran his fingers through his hair.
“When we first came here.”
He pressed his lips together. “Oh, that would come here and party.”
You nodded, a flush filled your cheeks.
“You know you don’t have to be shy.” He gently encouraged.
“I know. I just never asked this before.”
“Oh, I’m intrigued.”
“Dan” You giggled then buried your face into his chest before looking at him. “I want to go skinny dipping with you.”
“Now?” He glanced around. Reaching out, he happily didn’t feel a soul.
Well tlthere was a doe, who nibbled on some clover for herself and the baby she carrying. Or there was a rabbit hole, were some were sleeping the afternoon away. Inwardly, it made him smile. But he didn’t feel any human presence and that was all that mattered.
“Yes.” You looked around. “I don’t think anyone is here.”
He glanced around. “I think you’re right.”
“So” Your eyes lit up. “Are you saying yes?”
He smiled. “Yes, I’ve been wanting to ever since you told me about your excursion and

Squealing, you ran down the water. You looked back and saw Dan as he pulled and tugged on leg of his pants. “Coming?” You gently teased.
He looked up and gave you a bright smile. “I am!” He finally got his leg free and he pulled off his shirt over his head. Then he came running after you. Catching up together holding hands you ran and both jumped in.
“Wooo that is cold!” Dan called out.
“Oh! It is!” Your voice came squeaking out.
Eagerly you swam over to him. Under the water yours arms and legs worked together so the two of you remained floating and your head remained above the water.
After some shivering and giggling, you both finally began to relax. You smiled as Dan reached out and brushed some wet strands from your face.
“This isn’t so bad.” He finally said.
“Yes, not horrible.”
“Would you kiss me here?” His words made some butterflies of a different kind begin to flap in your stomach. They were not the ones who were flapping around because you were skinny-dipping in broad daylight with Dan.
“Of course.” You floated closer.
Under the water, Dan’s warm hands slid over you pulling you close to him. His touch was welcome and felt so good. Somehow, you both were able to kiss and stay afloat.
“Oh Dan.” You said softly. “I think I like kissing you very much out here.”
“Me too. Kiss me again.”
“Yes.”
You were not sure exactly when it happened. At some point your legs had wrapped around him. You were still floating and so was he.

“You do too.” You gasped. “Dan!” You could feel just how good he felt.”

11 Ted Talks on Communication & Leadership by Tim Eisenhauer Response
Watching all of the TED Talks was really interesting and confirmed many things that I suspected with my workplace. Overall, the TED Talks discussed what leadership means and how to be successful in future endeavors. It started with discussing how Apple was able to become such a huge company. Compared to other companies, Apple has a slightly different marketing approach according to the Golden Circle model. Normally companies first tell customers what their selling followed by how they do it but few actually say why. Apple does the reverse by telling the customer why they do what they do then tell them how their doing it. They finally end with what their doing and leave the option to the customer. This method of communicating was effective from Apple’s marketing strategy to Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
Additionally, the TED Talks also discussed how leadership is defined and how that can affect employees or followers. Many have once thought that leadership meant someone who was strong and made all the decisions but now it’s under criticism. According to the videos, a leader is someone who doesn’t act for their own personal interest but for the interest of others. When one can communicated and spread ideas, that is when they become a leader. Something as simple as cutting hours instead of firing half the workforce to organizing to stop illegal log cutting is an example of leadership. A leader is not someone who is paid more or gives orders but someone who can take the interests of others into consideration. My favorite analogy of this was in the “Lead Like the Great Conductors” video when they compared different conductors side by side. In the end the best conductor was decided based on his style, not on the “Ten Commandments of Conducting.” It was the conductor that allowed the musicians to play according to how they felt instead of what he was conducting. At one point, they played without the conductor at all. The ability to trust someone to finish and do their tasks is required for any good leader.
