MOUNTAIN #5 Løvstakken | 477m | the second highest mountain of Bergen
The first pictures have been taken in January 2017, the other ones (the ones with the blue sky haha) in May 2017.
MOUNTAIN #4 - Fløyen | 320m | The smallest and the most touristic one
Floyen at 3 different periods of the year: a beautiful sunny day in August with my greek beauties, an amazing sunset in October and a cloudy sunset with snow on March with my lovely Laure who came visit me ♡
2 ways to go up:
- Lazy way: the tramway
- Brave way: easy but steep walk (approximatly 40 minutes to go up)
At the top of Fløyen, you can find a restaurant, icecreams bar (yes, ice cream in Norway haha), souvenirs shops, bathroom...
There are a lot of small hikes and walks around the top of this mountain (especially if you want to join other mountains such as Sandviksfjellet). Really nice trails for a run.
MOUNTAIN #3 - LYDERHORN | 396m | When getting lost allows you to admire an amazing sunset
This mountain is far away from our residence. We took the bus during approximatly 40 minutes to arrive at the begining of the hike.
We decided to start the hike from Loddefjord/Kjøkkelvik (West side of the mountain). It was quite hard to find, we got a bit lost. It is the steepest and shortest trail to Lyderhorn and indeed at on point it wasn’t hiking anymore but climbing haha.
The view at the top is so breathtaking. We can see Bergen on one side and on the other side we can enjoy all the west part of Bergen, with the fjords and the little islands: beautiful!
Definitely one of my favorite mountain!
MOUNTAIN #2 - SANDVIKFJELLET | 417m | 1 mountain, different moments, different landscapes
This is the closest mountain to hike from my school (Norwegian School of Economics) and from my residence.
As I am doing this hike very often I’ve seen the view with different weathers. I really like this view of Bergen.
There are two different ways to get in:
- one fast and steep (hardest one): by the stairs of Stoltzekleiven
- one easier but longer way: by the road behind Hatleberg

Mountain #1 - ULRIKEN | 643m | the highest mountain of Bergen
From my point of view, this is the best mountain to hike, my favourite one among the 7 of Bergen ♡ . This is indeed the highest one and the one (according to me) with the best view of Bergen at the top.
The hike is not that hard, just need good shoes.
Tip: if you are brave enough, once arriving at the top, you can just continue to hike until Fløyen (another mountain of Bergen). The way to go is really well indicated with signs and the hike is quite flat. Landscapes all along are just amazing, you totally forget that you are just next to a city. Ulriken’s top is around 12km until Fløyen. So the best way to do it is to start the hike early in the morning and bring food and water (one bottle is enough because you can just fill it again with the water from the natural springs)
