about 2 weeks ago, sexual harassment in the bboy world came to light and set off this domino effect where female dancers have shed their fears in coming forward to specifically name these bboys who have hurt them.
you could say this is an extension of the #metoo movement, however, the bboy scene is small in retrospect to other communities and certain names are specifically known.
and my wonderful crew [ZQC] who i am still so proud of being a part of and to represent, have decided that it is literally our obligation as an all-female breakdance crew that are educated/professionals in various careers/female breakdancers to lead this #ispeakup movement here in NM.
we all have our own stories/narratives/memoirs of abuse and yes, they are painful to extract from our memories that we have tried so hard for so long to bury to forget. but they happened. and they have finished what each of us are today.
