a pause. freezing in his step. he had just completed his notes on a few of the strange ice flowers on the other side of the starglow cavern and began to head back to his main base. it was quite a ways away and he could start to see the color of the sky slowly grow pink. 

      there was someone there. 

      his lips pressed together, feeling the familiar weight of his blade by his side and quickly turning just to face the individual standing behind him. a step back and he was just ... watching.
