Okay this needs a little bit of explaining

Why? It used to be: "Ouch woe, my cheek!" Because one would scratched their cheek with joy or surprise

I think it was more common some time back because I have never seen someone unless it was in a movie or something so that with their hand but au backe is still used but now more for when you are surprised

I AGREE WITH EMILICO.. MARYROSE (AND ROSEMARY) WAS BOTH KIND AND HAD A GOOD HEART.

I also like how the characters are a bit more direct in the German Translation.. Like how Kate notes how Maryrose and Rosemary's plan was "they didn't want to give up on each other". I know it's kind of a weird thing to note but it's cool...

Also number two is REALLY interesting,, I don't entirely understand it but from what you said "au backe" is an older expression?? Makes sense why it would be used, since Shadows House have a more Victorianesc aesthetic and really anything that's not from the last 50 years kind of just gets meshed together as "Old slang/stuff".

IM NOT SURE HOW TO EXPLAIN IT BUT IT'S COOL AND I SEMI-UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S BEING USED..

So I was wondering if I was simply overlooking/overreading some of them. So I directly compared the English translation and the German translation of the first volume and have found a few that I can’t believe I missed while first looking for them

I have to be able to read Lady Kate's every wish from her eyes

technically translated it would be „it's been dealt with“ or „it’s done“ but in this context it’s more like „forget about“

DONT APOLOGIZE!!!!!!!! IM VERY GRATEFUL YOU'RE GOING THROUGH ALL THIS EFFORT JUST TO SHOW LITTLE OL ME ALL OF THIS,,,

this is the best ,, small changes here and there are always so fun to see. Like how Mia's laugh gets changed from "ufufu" to "tehehe" or with Emilico thinking she needs to be oiled like a machine (save her. save my poor girl emilico...)

ALSO THANK YOU FOR THE ADDED CONTEXT.. The direct translation makes sense (since the soot did deal with itself) but if Emilico is just going "Forget about it" is WAY funnier.

I won't like I don't have much to say,, BUT THE FLASHBACK SCENES WITH EMILICO ALWAYS MAKE ME SO SAD... She's just such a happy girl and knowing that she went through so much is TnT Her latching onto the few people who were nice to her is both GREAT for explaining how she ended up in this whole situation with the Shadows House and makes her a million times more sad (well, the recent Emilico lore reveal from the latest chapters takes the cake but ykwim..)
