three flames? three awful opinions. hmm though actually i think this first opinion will be just as unpopular as it is popular.... but i think the google doc trend needs to die quickly and in a raging fire. people can make some really cute and amazing things, but the reality is that 90% of the time, they just are not fucking accessible at all to mobile users. it is literally impossible to read someone's rules that are on a google doc when i'm on mobile, because google docs shifts the formatting to hell and back so literally only one or two words show up on my screen at a time and it's just........... not it. so i bet it's hell for rpers who mainly use or are stuck on mobile. also, for those of us that are still in school, there is NO WAY (at least that i know of) to not have it show up in the recently viewed section of google docs which 1) makes it difficult for me to find the things i need for class/clogs my space up with dozens and dozens of rules/muse info/verse pages and 2) makes me go "oh great heavens" and quickly x out of the tab bc i do not need my classmates knowing that i play virtual barbies with internet friends.
also. bc ur post made me think of it. i genuinely liked catcher in the rye when i read it in high school and that's probably my biggest red flag as a human being but also like i think i should get a pass for that one bc i was a deeply depressed and closeted teenager who hated the world dsfnjadfndgjdfn. idk man it definitely attracts a very.... strange demographic of people and i recognize that, but it kinda sucks that a book i really connected with (for better or worse. most likely for worse) is dogged on all the time bc of the way a few weirdos act about it.
and last but not least, i think reblog karma started out as a really good and well-intentioned idea, but it kinda falls apart when you try to put it into any sort of action because the reality is this β not every meme is applicable to every muse dynamic. not every meme works for every muse (i KNOW you know my struggle, zeke. i'm out here reading some of these meme starters and i'm like 'yeah sae-byeok would never say all that'). so practicing reblog karma gets really difficult under those constrains. THAT BEING SAID, there is absolutely no reason to not send in a meme if it's an ooc meme, or otherwise related to the mun or to character development like headcanon memes, meta memes, etc. it takes like, three seconds at most and it'll make someone's day, and then you can reblog the meme and feel fairly confident that someone will (hopefully) send something your way. that's my take on it, at least.
