I just realized how Ben Platt’s Sing to Me Instead has saved my life.

Most mornings I wake up with this dreadful feeling, this awful depression. I linger in bed as long as I can and when I take a shower, I fight back my tears because I really, really don’t want to go out, to leave the house, and to be where I hate to be, but have to be.

I used to play some music while taking a shower to cheer myself up, but even songs from my favorite artists couldn’t cure me.

I started playing Sing to Me Instead at the beginning of April and since then it’s become my shower time background music, morning and night.

I can’t explain how but these songs calm me and cure me. I sing along, mostly to Bad Habit because it’s the first song of the album and my shower time usually lasts about 1 - 3 songs so it’s Bad Habit, Ease My Mind, and Temporary Love, unless I queue them beforehand. I love all the songs. I also listen to this album when I feel stressed while driving, when I can’t sleep, or just whenever I need something to sooth my mind.
