I was talking to the mods about how the violence we were seeing, it's the 60s all over again.

Let me .. if you would not mind... talk a little about history..I think that would explain better ... it would also... help illustrate a point you can use for your harassers in real life. and for anyone who's willing to give you or any human shit about what they are, who they are, and everything that makes you specifically you.

Many Dub the 60s as the "GOLDEN AGE" cause of the things that happened around the world, but also, the 60s was known for the violence that came with it.

For you to get a lot of the rights that you have now as a citizen, you needed to go through HELL. man or woman it did not matter. Yes a white man in the United States back in colonial USA was paid to go to college [your first attempt at scholarships, fascinating but irrelevant] .

But it only took to 1900s to get the african american into the college system, and woman were in I need to check that but i think the first woman PHD was in the 1890s early 1900s but yeah impressive.

But here is the thing la, you gotta understand that, for every problem there is a root for it, if you can trace it back to its origin, it makes a lot of sense why people are being harassed for what they're being harassed.

But some of the most successful campaigns in the world were the non-violent ones. Malcom X was all for the African American getting the same rights as the 'white folks' but he used violence and it didn't work, Reverend Martin Luther King, got it done with none violence.

Britain occupied India for so long and would not remove, Gandhi's non violent made Britain pretty much leave the country.

You want to fight sterotype, you become aware of it, you fight it with non violent means, you become more active, more educated, educate the ignorant. If they fight you, you DO ... not.. fight back... self defense is important but violence breeds violence.

Yes without violence we would not have gotten half the technological advances and medical advances we got now, but that is a different topic all together.

just let them wash away and be you, I know it's very hard. I know how hard it is cause I'm under a sterotype that fucking pisses me off whenever people start talking about it. not only on tumblr but in real life. and you curse yourself for being born in certain 'privledges' while in truth yes you have that but you at least strive to be a better person and use that for good if you do indeed have a blatant one.
