FRIDAY

alright so I’m going to put this up on this account because its something I want to document for myself. and its super long so i dont really expect anyone to read it lol but its more for myself. but yeah so the concert was last night 6/21/13 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA and it was probably the best night of my life so far. the concert started at 7:30 so my parents dropped Anna and I off at like 6:45 outside the arena and the line was huge and aside from the normal line leading into the arena was a huge blob off on the side of people trying to get in but the wait wasn’t that long and the security went fast although they made us get rid of our water bottles and they took up some people’s posters. we tried to buy water bottles when we got in to the arena but they would only let you buy cups of water and we figured that was a bad idea. but yeah we found out seats pretty quickly and they were a lot better than what I thought they would be and I was so stoked. the stage wasn’t TOO far away and since they had that block set up in the middle of the floor it let us see them even closer about halfway through the concert which was really cool. the anticipation before the concert began was insane. the girls around us were mostly like 13 years old haha but they were fun and so excited and stuff. there was a set of parents directly in front of us haha and they stayed seated the whole show and didn’t really cheer or anything they were just there lolol which idk was good and bad. it was good because it was super easy to see and take pictures and stuff but it was kind of bad because I felt like I was the only person in that section cheering lol so it tampered on some of the whole concert effect but whatever. the girls that were behind us and to the left a little were I swear some of the loudest girls in the whole arena but they were fun haha I liked it because it got me hyped up. and you could tell they were Harry and Louis girls for sure. the opening act was a band called 5 seconds of summer and I had started listening to them a bit ago because I knew they were opening and I wanted to get to know them and some of their songs a bit and I actually really really like them. they started around 7:45 and I knew 4 out of the 6 songs they performed. but they were super cute! they bobbed up and down on their guitars a lot haha and they did the classic like wide leg guitar stance when they played and it was really attractive to see Ashton play the drums and wow they are just all more attractive in person. luuuukkeeeee omg he was really cute when he was singing and stuff and Michael and calum were so cute on their guitars/bass and they kept running back and forth so they paid equal attention to each side of the stage and yeah it was cute. not a ton of people really knew 5sos so people weren’t super into it like even some people were getting up and going to get food or going to the bathroom or just sitting down but whatever I was getting into it cause I really like them and they deserve attention. and yeah like did most of the talking and Ashton told his little story, which he called “story time” hahaha :3, of how Louis discovered them on YouTube and asked them to go on tour with 1d which was cute. I did not know Louis was the one who found them I thought it was Niall cause Niall was the one who tweeted about them to us from what I remember but yeah. I got a video of 5sos performing and I tried to take some pictures but you can’t see anything because the lights were too bright haha so it’s just like a blob of light but whatever. calum and Michael didn’t talk much but calum kept shouting out like “I love Atlanta” and stuff haha. then once they were done performing (around 8:10-8:30ish?) the lights came back on and people were moving around a ton and talking but I was too terrified to do anything because I didn’t want to miss 1d coming out on stage so I just sat there lol. but yeah the anticipation was building and oh my god when the lights turned off I knew they would be coming out soon I honestly didn’t know what to do I just stood up and held my breath. and then the stage lights turned on and you could see their band and then the boys can running out from the right side of the stage I think. but honestly I was so excited that I couldn’t tell you for sure if that’s how they came out because I just don’t remember I was so excited in that moment I just don’t even know. but yeah I think I remember seeing Liam first in his black and white Union Jack tank top that used to be a shirt haha with a black zip up hoodie over it and then I saw like Niall in his “crazy mofos” shirt that he got made just for the tour because that’s what he calls the directioners haha and I saw Harry and Louis dressed in all black with just plain black tshirts and black jeans. which admittedly made it hard sometimes to tell which one was which on stage immediately. and zayn was dressed in a light grey hoodie thing. and wow I screamed so loudly but at the same time I was sort of shaking haha. it was just so surreal like it took me a bit to comprehend that I was seeing them in person. like to me they looked different than what I normally see them as but I didn’t like comprehend that it was because they were there right in front of me in the same arena as me. in person. and I can’t really remember who spoke first to be honest. i think it was Niall or Harry who just said something like “how are you doing Atlanta?!” And then Louis started speaking and he said like “we want to start off by thanking each and every one of you for buying a ticket to come see us. we would not be able to do any of this without you and we owe it all to you” and stuff and then it moved on to him saying like “hope you’re doing well atlanta” or “we love atlanta Georgia” and stuff and they each said something brief like that about Atlanta. and then Niall started singing parts of the song “Georgia’s on my mind” and it was so cute and Harry joined in with him and yeah it was really cute and they sang “up all night” first and honestly I can’t remember whether they sang that first when they came out or if after all of the introductions. actually now that I think about it I think they came out singing that and then did the introductions. but yeah they sang that and that was a lot of fun and people were jumping up and down a lot like it says in the song and harry did his classic hip thrust at the line "people going all the way yeah all the way" and then after the song im sure liam said something like “thank you atlanta georgia!!!” and Harry spoke a little saying like “we are so happy to be here” and “we are one direction” and stuff and then he was like “now I would like to introduce you to one of my very good friends, mr. zayn Malik!!” and that moment was I think the longest and most upbeat I have ever heard zayn talk hahaha and yeah he said similar things to the rest of the boys and then he introduced the song “I would” and they sang that and Niall did the really cute part in the song where he says “go tommo go tommo go” to introduce Louis part in the song and that was super cute and I think the whole stadium laughed and shouted out the “he’s got 27 tattoos” part because some of the boys have well surpassed that haha. and yeah that was good and then they transitioned into another song I don’t even remember the order I’m sorry but according to the set list it was “heart attack” which sounds correct. Niall didn’t do the “ow” s in “heart attack” but all of the fans sang it and the boys would sometimes stick out their mics to the crowd at those parts cause we were really loud and that was really cute and sweet. and I can’t remember if it was after that song or “I would” that Louis was like “I know this is really early on but I think I can safely say that this is one of the loudest crowds that we’ve had on the US tour so far” and that was really cool and exciting. and then they sang “more than this” and harry and Niall did their signature synchronized dance to the song and that was so cute. and during liams part, after every line, niall would repeat the last little part like just saying it haha it was funny. and then after that Harry talked some saying like “you guys are incredible” and “thank you for being here” and that type of stuff and then I think Liam introduced “one thing” which was one of the ones that I was like most excited about and that was just really fun and really nostalgic to hear and then after that they were supposed to have a wardrobe change but I think zayn was the only one that changed, and he changed into like a red sweater thing and then they did “c’mon c’mon” which had a big instrumental part and then the boys ran back out and then according to the set list Liam and Niall talked after that and I think that’s about right, I don’t remember exactly what they said though, hell I couldn’t even tell what Niall said half of the time of the whole concert hahahahaha but yeah Liam is really good at like hyping up the crowd and saying like “how we doing tonight atlanta?!” and throughout the concert they would ask like “are you enjoying the show so far?!” and stuff. then they sang “change my mind” and I’m pretty sure there was a part in there Liam changed up a bit and it was really pretty. and then they got on this platform thing that carried them over to the second stage, which was the block thing they had set up in the middle of the floor and the platform carried them over the entire middle part of the crowd on the floor while they were singing “change my mind” and wow that was a really cool like magical moment and they waved at the people on the floor as they went over them and yeah that was just really cool and we saw them like slowly get closer to us and that was really exciting and then they landed on the stage and harry was really cute about jumping off of the platform right at the end of the song haha he was like waiting to jump off of it and then the setlist says that Harry talked then but I don’t really remember and then they sang “one way or another/teenage kicks” and that was really good and one of the most energetic of the songs and they changed it up a bit from the recording which I liked. they sang the “one way or another” part first and then had a bit of an instrumental break that transitioned into “teenage kicks” and then incorporated “one way or another” into that and it was longer than normal but a lot of fun. and then Liam out of nowhere decided to just tackle harry haha so he just ran across the stage and dove into his legs and they both fell and shoved a bit and then harry just stood up again lol and then they did twitter questions and the first question was “what is your favorite part about Atlanta” which niall read out and went to Louis to answer first and he said “last time when we were here I actually really enjoyed the cocacola museum” and then niall went to harry and he answered “my favorite part is the people” which of course everyone cheered really loudly for and Louis said “that was my second choice” haha and then Niall went to zayn and he said “yeah I’m gonna agree with Harry and say the people” and Liam said the people too I think and then Niall said like “yeah the people are great, but bedsides that I also really like all of the great big name records that have come out of here” I think and then he mentioned something about basketball and the hawks. and then they found the people who sent in the question. and then Niall read out the second twitter question which was “do your best southern accent” and Niall said “I’ll tell you what” in a southern accent haha and they basically repeated that line throughout the rest of the night and then Liam said something in a southern accent but I couldn’t really tell what he said. and then they found the person who sent in that question and she was in section 110 which was just two sections to the left of us so they were really close and the girl who sent it in had a really long twitter username with just a bunch of random letters and numbers it seemed and after they found the person harry asked “why did you chose that username?” and like actually stood on the edge of the stage waiting for an answer as if he was going to be able to hear it that idiot haha and Liam said “that must be a pain in the ass to type in” lol and then they asked the last question which was “what sauce do you dunk your chicken nuggets in” and Niall started it off by saying something that I could not tell what exactly it was lol it sounded like “sweet baby ranch”?? and he said it in his southern accent lol but goddamn that Irish accent is strong hahahaha and then Liam answered by saying “I’m gonna have to also go with that SWEETBABYRANCH (???)” lolol I don’t even know but we all cheered really loudly and then they went to zayn to answer and zayn was so funny hahahha zayn is always so chill and so while like Liam and Niall had been yelling whatever the fuck their answer was zayn was like “uhh yeah I think I’m just gonna go with barbecue” hahaha ah zayn. and the person who asked that question was also in section 110 so they were right near us again. and then twitter questions were over and they sang “last first kiss” which I was really excited about because that was the first song off of the second album that I listened to aside from “live while we’re young” and it’s also one of my favorites and omg Harry and Liam in that song were soooo good and they were still on the second stage for that song and that’s the song where they were walking all along the edge of the stage waving to all of the fans in the back of the arena and harry walked by our side so much omfg like zayn and Louis walked around mostly on the other side, Liam went around the whole thing pretty evenly but he might have been on our side more and Niall was around by our side mostly towards the end of the song and every time one of them walked by and was looking up everyone would wave at them in hopes that they would wave back and they waved at most sections. that’s the song where harry waved at out section twice and he also did some signal thingy with his pointer finger and his thumb making an “o” shape and he blew kisses earlier but I didn’t see either of those TT but I think I have them on camera so I will have to watch them back. and Niall waved at our section once during that song I believe. Liam changed up his part in “last first kiss” a bit and it was super pretty. and then they got back on the platform thing that lifted them up and they sang “moments” which is probably the moment that I teared up the most because that’s one of my favorite songs of theirs and its just really good and it’s the most emotional and it’s also super nostalgic cause its from the “up all night” album the platform thing lifted them up and then instead of going straight back to the main stage it brought them more forward so they came even closer to us and thats probably when I got my best/closest pictures of them and yeah that part was so good and kind of emotional. especially because they like slowly got closer to us and then they slowly got further away again as they moved back to the main stage :(. and then there was a ton of cheering after they sang “moments” cause everyone was sort of feeling those emotions. but then when they got back to the main stage they sang “back for you” which was also one of the ones I was most excited to hear because idk it talks about like a concert setting and it’s sweet and being there made it more special. and that one was really good the crowd was really loud so they had us sing a lot of it and would just place the mica out for us to sing into and wow those were really great moments. and then they had another wardrobe change in which zayn changed into a plain black tshirt, Liam changed into a white shirt with like the number “86” on it in black letters with the sleeves rolled up and Niall changed into a white graphic tank top. and then when they came back out the background image changed to this orange and blue like striped pattern and they all sat down to sing “summer love” and at that point Niall had gotten his acoustic guitar out and Liam introduced him with the guitar. and Niall and Louis were sitting next to each other on the left side of the stage for that song and that was really cute and harry had come out wearing these American flag sunglasses haha and he was sitting on the higher above part of the left stage I believe and Liam on the lower right part of the stage and zayn on the higher right part. and then they continued with the slow song thing and sang “over again” and woww I was so excited for Harry to sing his solo in that song because its like one of my favorite solos in the album and it was really good and he changed it up a bit I think he just went a step lower on one part but it was really good and agh he’s so cute :3. and at some point he took off the sunglasses and threw them off on the left side of the stage. one thing during “summer love” that was annoying though was that the girls behind us would yell every time it changed to one of the boys solos so it was hard to hear them but whatever. and after that was done zayn talked a bit and I think I lied earlier, that was probably the most I had heard zayn talk I think haha and then he introduced "little things" and I think they told us to get our phones out, but whether they did or not, everyone did anyway and put on a flashlight thing and waved our hands in the air and it was really sweet and emotional and during nialls solo they had the camera that projected to the tv screens on him and he smiled while he was singing and that was so cute and sweet omg. and then on the setlist it says that liam talked after that which may have been true i dont really remember but i think i sort of remember that. yes actually i do remember him talking about how niall had switched from his acoustic guitar to his electric guitar and then yeah they sang their cover of "teenage dirtbag" which i was excited for because i like that song and its a cover of a lot more mature sounding song than their typical pop songs that they do so it was really nice to like imagine how their songs and albums are going to grow with them and god everyone just sounds really good on that song like harrys voice was so deep and rough sounding and ugh and nialls was lower and zayn had his normal fantastic rips throughout and louis voice at the chorus (!!!!) so so good and then liams part at the end where he goes into falsetto UGH. and then after "teenage dirtbag" they sang "rock me" which i was also suuuuppppeeerrrr pumped for i was way more excited about the second half of the lineup than the first if you can tell lol but yeah cause "rock me" is obviously a lot more rocky sounding and the boys, particularly harry get a lot more into this song than other ones and so there was a lot of dancing and like just sharp like punching movements and stuff like that which was fun and at the end zayn hit an incredibly high and loud note and wowwwwwwwww the whole arena went soooo wild it was sooooo gooood omg that was like possibly one of the best parts of the night we all got so pumped up and everyone was screaming and cheering so loudly and it was just really really good and in that song too the boys let the crowd sing a lot of it because we were so loud so they held out the mic a lot for us and that was a really like magical moment too like when none of the boys were singing but the whole arena was singing so loudly and actually really well that the song stayed on beat and sounding really really good. also during rock me is when the fire things on stage went off and that made everyone scream some more and get even louder. and then after that song the boys sang "she's not afraid" which was pretty good, its not one of my favorite songs but i know a lot of the fans like it a lot so everyone was still really loud during that one. then it started nearing the end and everyone was aware and the boys sang one of their other singles from the "take me home" album which was "kiss you" and that one was a lot of fun and they let us sing a bit of that one too and harry did his really cute hand movement thing that he does during that song haha and like right after the chorus of that song on a big like drum beat, confetti shot out of these things all over both the main stage and the second stage and little inflatable ball balloon things were thrown down from the top of the arena into the crowd and that was really cool and a lot of fun and after kiss you the boys ran off the stage and WOWWW IT WAS SO FUCKING LOUD. the absolute loudest part of the night and it was just pitch black with the whole crowd screaming for like 5 straight minutes, maybe even longer it was just soooooo fucking loud and i guess that is what would be considered the encore at that point but omg my ears were ringing at that point but it was soooo cool and so much fun and just everyone was so excited and it was awesome, one of the best parts of the night for sure. for sure. i wont forget that moment omg like that was the most like involved in a fan base than i have ever felt before i am not kidding i was just a mix of screaming cause i was so excited, screaming to like cheer them back on, and stopping to laugh and smile every now and then because i was just so happy in that moment and now im going to start crying thinking about it haha that was just such a special moment oh my god. and then the boys came back on and i think it was louis who said like "you guys are now definitely the loudest and most involved crowd we have had on this US tour" and that just made us cheer even louder. and then they introduced "live while we're young" and during it liam grabbed a girls phone from the front row and he filmed like the rest of the whole song with her phone, filming some of the boys on stage and then also panning over the view of the crowd from the stage and he does that pretty often, he is the only one of the boys that does that but wow thats so cool, the girl has already posted some gifs and pictures from it. and yeah everyone was jumping up and down during that song a lot too because you know it talks about partying and just having fun and stuff and the boys did their classic boat dance that they do for that song haha and that was really really cute. and also during the song, huge beach balls into the crowd and wow that just made an even more fun experience and yeah it was just so much fun. and then after that song ended everyone knew that they only had one song left and so the boys all said what they had to say about the show that night and stuff and said stuff like "thank you for having us, you were incredible" and "i hope you enjoyed the show tonight" and there was actually one point i think it was after "live while we're young" when niall was standing up talking while the rest of the boys were sitting on the right side of the stage, along with josh devine i think haha and niall was like "everyone on this side *pointed towards left side* have you enjoyed the show tonight?! (lets note that i just typed "so far" and then went back and changed it to "tonight" because i realized that was at the end of the show and i teared up a little. sigh :() and everyone on that side cheered and screamed and then he said "and everyone on this side *pointed towards the right side* have you enjoyed the show tonight?!" and thats the side that the other boys were sitting on and it was so cute like while we were all screaming and cheering because that was the side i was on the rest of the boys said so like nonchalantly "yeah id say its been a pretty good show" and stuff like that haha it was so cute and funny. and then like after all of the boys had said what they had to say, which was like their thank yous and stuff, they introduced "what makes you beautiful" and wow we were all like cheering for it but at the same time we were all sad because we knew it would be the very last one :( and so yeah we all sang and jumped around during that one and it was crazy and emotional and wow thinking about it makes me sad again and happy at the same time and then it got to the slow part where harry has his solo and they all lined up in their little arrow formation that they always do during that part and i waited for them to mess with harry in some way but they didnt and idk i guess thats kind of good though because it really just allowed me to take in the moment and yeah then they sang the last part of the song and :( they said their last thank yous and then they departed. harry and liam jumped into the pits that were in the stage and i have no idea where the fuck louis and zayn went and then niall stayed on the stage the longest and he like ran up to the front of the stage a bit and danced around some haha aww he was soooo cute :333 and then he finally jumped up and into the pit in the stage butt first haha and yeah there was a ton of cheering and the band kept playing and then the lights blacked out for a moment and there was still a ton of cheering and there were so many emotions running through my mind at that point and i couldnt even tell you how long the lights were out cause i dont remember then the lights came back on and it was over. and yeah thats a super long and in depth run through of the show.
