E3 is the biggest showcase for video games every year, and E3 2018 is shaping up to be no different. While events like Gamescom might be far larger in terms of sheer attendance, E3 is still the premiere place for developers to showcase their upcoming projects. There are sure to be many games that we donāt know about, but letās run through all of the ones that have been confirmed for the convention so far.
While E3 used to be more concentrated from an audienceās perspective, the show has effectively been spread out to last nearly a full week. Press conferences and showcases have come earlier and earlier; the first of the bunch this year will again be EA Play, Electronic Artsā pre-E3 event. We donāt know the showās full lineup, but the publisher has already confirmed that two of its biggest upcoming games will be there: Anthem and Battlefield V. BioWareās Anthem is a Destiny-esque open-world action game that weāve still yet to hear much about, so EA Play should provide us with a firmer idea of what expect. Similarly, we should learn even more about the new features Battlefield V will offer as it takes the franchise back to World War II.
Battlefieldās chief competition, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, will also make an appearance at E3. Another Activision shooter, Destiny 2, will also be there, as Bungie is set to share details on an upcoming mode due out this fall that offers a ānew style of playā for first-person shooters.
Super Smash Bros. for Switch will be among Nintendoās biggest games at the show, while Sony has said its press conference will focus primarily on four games: Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us Part II. There will, however, be some projects from third-party developers shown there, while Microsoftās conference remains a mystery.
Thereās sure to be a lot more on display, and thereās always a good chance of some kind of surprise. We know, for instance, that The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red will be in attendance, though we donāt know if itāll be actually showing off a game. There was also a lot seemingly leaked by Walmart Canada earlier in May; one of those games, Rage 2, has proven to be real, so perhaps more of those games will turn out to be at E3. Read on for the full list of confirmed games so far, and check back as we continue to update in the lead-up to the show, which runs from June 12-14.
