Concord runs down Merrimack, 55-0
MERRIMACK - The Tide came rolling in on time Friday night, but it actually caught Concord football coach Eric Brown off-guard. âThey have a really explosive offense,â Brown said about Merrimack, which his undefeated Concord team smothered 55-0 in a Division I cross-conference matchup, âand I was a little surprised tonight how well we performed. We executed.â The Tomahawksâ offense went silent on Friday night, falling to a much superior team in Concord that scored on its first play from scrimmage as part of a 42-0 first-half rout. Merrimack mustered just 48 first-half yards and punted on all but one of its possessions in the game. Laurendi also confirmed that leading rusher and linebacker Joe Giampietro was lost for the season last week against Manchester Memorial due to a knee injury. Itâs the second year in a row Giampietro has fell victim to a season-ending injury. âI think they are as close to a complete football team as there is right now,â Merrimack coach Dante Laurendi said of Concord. QuizĂĄs sea una exageraciĂłn, pero quizĂĄs no: El Madron FC terminĂł esa temporada sin puntos y con una diferencia de gol de -395 (eso ni el Real Cartagena, juepucha). Pero, aun asĂ, el equipo es el orgullo de la gente de Madron, un pequeño pueblo peninsular en Cornwall, al suroeste de Inglaterra.
ÂżPor quĂ© demonios? ÂżPor quĂ© los locales se someten a esta tortura de equipo?
