Idk if you still have prompts open, but if you do- maybe Five and Vanya having a bonding sib moment while she doesn't remember him? I love your writing btw
"So what was I like as a kid?" Vanya asks. Five grips the steering wheel and does his best to level himself. Now is not the time to tell her about, well, anything.
"You were sweet. Quiet. Always paying attention. And so, so smart." Five flips his turn signal. The worst thing about the early 60s is that seat belts did not exist in any way that mattered. He's gotta drive careful.
"Sounds like Harlan," Vanya replies. She fiddles with the crank for the window, something familiar from their childhood.
"Who's Harlan?" Five asks.
"The kid I nanny for. He's so sweet. Doesn't talk at all. He's brilliant. Loves music." Five can hear the smile in her voice.
"You play violin." He notes the present tense in his statement.
"Do I? Am I any good?"
"You're extraordinary, Vanya." He means it broadly.
"God that is so cool. Sissy is gonna love that."
"Sissy?" He has his hopes. Diego might owe Klaus and Allison ten dollars.
"Harlan's mom. She's incredible."
Oh yeah. He owes em.
"I hope I get to meet her someday." Five pulls into the parking lot of the diner.
"Were we close?" Vanya turns to him, instead of opening the door.
"You were my best friend." An honest answer, freely given.
"It's silly, but I feel like I could tell that."
Five gives her a smile, and he hopes she can tell how much he means it.
