Shares Inc. marks Disabilities Awareness Month

Service consumers, customers receive awards at annual open house

Published: Saturday, March 19, 2011 7:08 AM US/easternEnthusiasm and excitement are always thick in the air before the start of the annual Shares Inc. awards program, and the buzz continued throughout the program on Friday that recognized the agency's employees and employers with trophies made by Sharp Trophies By Mack. Master of Ceremonies Denise Holland from Major Hospital introduced presenters as well as entertainment by Shares worker Miranda Moore, accompanied by Gary Goins on the guitar. Moore's rendition of "Come to My Window" helped to set the tone for the program, and she and Elizabeth Potts brought the crowd to its feet when she performed "The Climb" with a chorus of Shares consumers joining in on the chorus.
