The first complete sequencing of human DNA was published twenty years ago in 2001. It gave a cast material of genetic information essential for understanding the fundamental mechanisms of human life and diseases, hundreds of scientists from all over the world were involved in the research. However among millions of people who’s DNA was sequenced less than 2% were African or of African descent. 3MAG - Three Million of African Genes is a project creates to “read” the DNA of people from all across the African continents, of different regions and ethnolinguistic groups.
