Open Qwaq
OpenQwaq is open source computer software for immersive collaboration, which enables organizations to implement online 3Dvirtual world workspaces for their specific needs. OpenQwaq is based on the Teleplace technology, a conferencing platform that has been in the market since 2007, with the name Qwaq Forums until 2009.
A highly-secure, enterprise-class virtual collaboration platform. OpenQwaq is built on Squeak, and is the next step in delivering solutions using the Croquet shared instruction model.(http://aneddoticamagazine.com/2012/10/croquet-open-cobalt/)
Like offices and meeting rooms, OpenQwaq Forums are places where users can go to work, to collaborate with others, and to identify and solve issues. Whether you are working internally with other team members and groups, or need to collaborate with supply chain partners or customers, OpenQwaq has powerful features that simplify setting up and working in highly collaborative environments.
Overview

It is a highly-secure, enterprise-class virtual collaboration platform that has been used by large commercial enterprises and federal agencies. OpenQwaq enables organizations – large and small, profit and not-for-profit – to implement virtual workspaces for their specific needs.

"On QUBE you are a Qubot, able to speak with other people just as you would in the real world. We have found industry-standard ‘human-like’ avatars undermine and distract from the key objectives of learning or doing real work – especially for ‘grown-ups’ and corporate users. Qubots are gender-neutral, hierarchy-flattening (huge advantages in creativity and innovation work) and prejudice-free. Our simple ‘boxy’ qubot avatars have a further significant advantage: your webcam displays where your head is. So you can have face-to-face conversations virtually on QUBE "
