Bridging the Gap between SketchUp and WebGL

This is where WebGL comes into play. WebGL, or Web Graphics Library, is a JavaScript API that enables high-performance 3D graphics within compatible web browsers, without the need for additional plugins. By harnessing the power of WebGL, SketchUp models can be transformed into immersive web experiences, allowing users to explore and interact with them in real-time.

Instant NeRF is a neural rendering model that can produce pictures of a high-resolution 3D scene in a few moments after learning it in seconds.

Nvidia events are known for combining technical prowess with spectacle, and this year’s GTC conference was no exception.

With a characteristic dazzling demo, the business concluded a week that saw the introduction of a new enterprise GPU and an Arm-based “superchip.”

Nvidia demonstrated the inverse: converting 2D photos into a 3D scene in milliseconds, 75 years after the world’s first instant shot recorded the 3D world in a 2D picture.

The technology, dubbed Instant NeRF, entails training a neural rendering model using a few dozen still photographs, as well as data on the camera angle for each shot. After that, the algorithm fills in the blanks by anticipating how light would behave in the real world.

“Instant NeRF might be as significant to 3D as digital cameras and JPEG compression have been to 2D photography,” said David Luebke, Nvidia’s VP of graphics research.

Nvidia revealed the technology in an AI tribute to Polaroid legend Andy Warhol.

With his camera, the computational behemoth reproduced a mythical shot of the pop musician. The photograph was then transformed into a 3D scene.
