This quiet site is situated in Kingsnorth a suburb of Ashford. About 10-15 minutes from the M20 motorway and approximately 40 minutes from the ferry port in Dover.

Very good for a last night stopover before a ferry crossing in Dover or Folkestone or for using the channel tunnel.

The site is in two parts, the larger holiday park and the smaller adults only area which we have always used. There is a nice reception with friendly staff. The reception building also houses a small shop with a selection of meats, dairy products, drinks etc. There is also a take- away coffee machine, a small book and DVD library and an information room. The adults only area has a toilets and showers block which is spacious and spotless. Also on site is a short dog walking area and a drive over grey water disposal point and chemical toilet disposal point. The pitches are large and pretty flat, somehave an outdoor table with benches. There is small herb garden for customer use and there is a coded security barrier.

Local pubs are a bit of a distance away but there are leaflets from local take-away food deliveries in the information area. Ashford is large town with a choice of large supermarkets and shopping opportunities.

Conclusion: A very nice and well cared for site which we use regularily on visits to the U.K.

En route.....

The last day of our time in the U.K. arrived and we moved on from Billinghurst to Ashford our last stop before the ferry. Once we had packed up we chose to follow the smaller roads rather than using the busy motorways south of London.

We hoped to have a snack along the way but when we stopped at the Cowdray Arms near Haywards Heath at ten to twelve and asked at the bar if we could look at the bar menu we were told that food was served from twelve o‘clock. When we asked if we could already order the barkeeper told us no otherwise the chef would be very angry!!! So turned on our heels and left! Probably quite lucky for us as we found a very nice pub in Goudhurst, The Green Cross Inn, where the french owner was very friendly and where we had a delicious snack. In fact had we been staying nearby, I‘m sure we would have returned there for an evening meal.

Before we got to the campsite we picked up some cold foods in Asford for the evening and then made our way to the Broadhembury Site. It was the third or fourth time we have used the site, firstly because it‘s just very nice and secondly it is very practical for reaching the ferry port at Dover.

As usual mum and Malcolm arrived a little later. We then spent some time enjoying the late afternoon sun before we prepared our buffet meal for the last time. When it started to get colder and darker we said our farewells, some tears were shed and we turned in for the night. We had an early ferry so we wouldn‘t be able to say our goodbyes in the morning.
