The sun shone across his garden in long strokes, warmth seeping into his skin with every step. But the subtle sounds of homemade jam spread on fresh bread pulled him further to the woods. Dick stood mesmerized as Jason prepared two servings of the same wonderful bread, clearly having waited for his arrival. They greeted each other with soft smiles and sunshine, small birds singing in the branches, and the comfort of being expected. Dick could not verbalize the helpless love he felt for this moment, vision scattered across the grass, but attention funneled entirely on Jason's travels before arriving.

He must be in some kind of delirium if he’s imagining Golden Boy to come to his rescue. Deathstroke really has the good drugs, huh? What’s even more shocking is when Dick, in all his black and blue glory, gets on his knees and cups Jason’s face.
