Com discórdia entre direção e participantes quanto ao nome do evento - que passaria a se chamar Encontro Plurinacional de Mulheres, Lésbicas, Trans, Travestis, Bissexuais e Não-Binárias - o Encontro de 2019 nas ruas foi um eco das manifestações de agosto de 2018 pela aprovação no Congresso do projeto de legalização do aborto no país. Aprovado pela Câmara dos Deputados, o projeto foi barrado no Senado, apesar do voto favorável da então senadora e hoje vice-presidente Cristina Kirchner • 34th National Meeting of Women of Argentina, held in October/2019 in La Plata. With disagreement between the head of the meeting and the attendees as to the name of the event - which would be renamed Plurinational Meeting of Women, Lesbians, Trans, Transvestites, Bisexuals and Non-Binaries - the 2019 encounter echoed in the streets the August 2018 demonstrations for the approval in Congress of the project of abortion legalization in the country.
