hi friends! the end of this month (May 28, 2021) marks the two year anniversary of the first gifset i ever made! i have grown and progressed tremendously in my editing skills over the past two years, and i love expressing my creativity with gifs!
since last yearās celebration was so fun and connected me with so many incredible gif makers on this site, i am super excited to celebrate again this year! i am commemorating a personal milestone, but the overall goal of this celebration is to recognize, uplift, and inspire gif makers to love themselves and their art! absolutelyĀ anyone is welcome to join in, whether youāve been giffing for a million years or just started yesterday.

in an adaptation from last yearās creator spotlight series, i will be dedicating 5 days this month to the top 5 gif makers who i feel have inspired and impacted me the most in my personal gif making journey. my choices will be based on a variety of factors, like gif making talent and creativity, but also things like kindness, supportiveness, and leadership. the friends i have made on this site are so special and so skilled in their craft, so this will be my way of thanking the people who have pushed me to become better and also helped me feel like i truly belong in this community of creators.

how do you manage to keep making a set over multiple days? i lose a lot of my drive if i cant do it all at once most of the time
omg i could never do it all at once! well except for the ones where i just caption a scene but i pretty much never do those š between getting the video, importing the gifs, making all those DECISIONS, tagging, its like 3 days on average. even if i "finish" in one sitting i always sleep on it and look at it again the next day and make a bunch of changes.
im literally a perfectionist tho like i tend to overcomplicate simple tasks bc i always think something i make could be better and better. i dont post a gifset unless im 100% happy with it. it sucks when i have a really exciting gifset consuming my thoughts and i have to like,, do school or work stuff bc its literally on my mind every second of the day until i have free time to get back to it. but i guess i stay motivated by thinking of ideas while im not directly looking at the gifset.
if it's ok, can you share the set you mentioned in your tag game? the one about the gun shooting texy? please? it sounded so cool!!!
YES its this jesper fahey set by @inejghafta and i think about it at least 3 times a week. the 3rd gif is the one i was talking about but seriously the whole thing is so cool and i wanna figure out how to do those effects so bad

Since itās your gifiversary I thought Iād try to be relatable...as a gif maker I honestly feel like the worst part of gifmaking is selecting scenes...like there are so many things I want to edit but then Iām like...what scenes would I use?? How many hours would it take me to download and cut them?? And I just donāt bother lol
EXACTLY!!! if the video clips would just gather themselves and the shots i want would just import themselves and i could just go straight to coloring and editing??? that would be amazing and i would make so many more gifsets
