got hands like an ocean, push you out pull you back in🌊 #2PostsIn1Day #oops (at Great Ocean Road, 12 Apostles)
I was drinking Zico coconut water, trying to relieve my stress from all this BIS 2A mumbo jumbo and as I was looking at the carton, I wondered if it was recyclable. After a minute of inspection, I found it was indeed recyclable along with a link to find facilities that recycle cartons. A quick search showed that SF did take these cartons. Then I wanted to look up Recology, just out of a lingering curiosity that I always had about what happened with waste and what goes where. A few clicks here and there and I suddenly really wanted to work for Recology. A few more clicks brought me to their career page and I found that they have an summer internship and it recently opened! Although it included areas of social media and marketing, accounting, government relations and engineering, of which I usually shy away from, it didn't scare me away. Rather, I was willing to grow in those areas right away if I could get this internship. I never felt this much giddiness and excitement thinking about the future and a possible career. I was always wary about food science, just going along with it with the excuse that I didn't know the entire field and might come across something that will excite me. I dropped the idea of going to sustainable ag, probably because it made me anxious that the courses were so different and I didn't want to stray in case I did stick to food science with nutrition. I sat here looking at the internship description on my laptop with my bio notes that I was previously working on sprawled out on the desk and I thought, what's happening??? I needed a talk just to verbally bring out my thoughts. After talking about this matter with my consultant (aka my best friend), I decided I'm going to apply for the internship, talk to an advisor about what are my options and try not to stress out too much about this sudden thought of change.
