((I’ve yet to make a proper intro post for these two, but I wanted to post these edits I made for this blog so far. Final exams sucked more energy out of me than I expected, but hopefully I’ll be able to get back into making art at some point))
In my mind, 2p Italy is the flirtatious one, but 2p Japan is the (hopeless) romantic.
I think both are flirty, but in different ways. Luciano flirts because he’s bored or wants attention, etc; it’s impulsive and often shallow. Kuro becomes flirtatious when he is actively pursuing someone. He may throw the occasional flirtatious remark about someone who he thinks looks nice, but I don’t see him going to the level of Luciano.
Once Kuro has latched onto someone, he pursues them relentlessly. Luciano takes forever to warm up to people; I can’t see him being romantic with people, especially strangers (at least, it’d take a while before he gets comfortable being romantic. Weaseling in my aroace spectrum HC here as well—he gives me demiromantic vibes).
Kuro is the other side of the same coin though. He jumps from relationship to relationship, forming quick yet fleeting obsessions. He mistakes this high for “love”, so he often has unstable and shallow relationships. He attaches to someone for whatever reason, immediately becoming obsessive and idolizing them. Then something happens that sets him off, however insignificant, and he begins to devalue and loathe that person. Either that or he becomes bored once the high of a new relationship dies down. He’s always in a relationship to some degree; I like to think it’s because he can’t stand being alone, even if it means staying with toxic people who he doesn’t care for. He jumps from person to person, but doesn’t often go back to exes.
I like to think he almost pulls this same schtick with Luciano—impulsively trying to leave once things change or don’t go his way—then seemingly regrets it, as he realizes that he doesn’t want to lose him.
but I like to think that Kuro fell first, yet Luciano fell harder
