Ford runs off with a girl to socialize, leaving Stan all alone :( but then Mr. Forrester offers Stan a dance and everything is OK again! :)

Yes yes yes yessss. This combines so many things that I love. Continuation of the last 2Fords ask, I think, at least in the short term, older Ford wins the fight. Stan knows the truth about him, and he uses that to undermine his younger self (for ease here, Ford=older; Stanford=younger). After all, he did things, thought things, of course Stanford is doing the same. Namely: college. He applied without telling his brother. He got acceptances and didn’t tell his brother. Then WCT and the science fair. Looking back, he knows how much that hurt his brother. So Ford throws his younger self completely under the bus. He rats him out, and Stan doesn’t want to believe it, but she can’t help but go look in the place Ford tells her, the furthest corner under the mattress of Stanford’s bunk, the place Stan is the least likely to go in their entire room bc fuck any manner of heights. And there is all the proof, and it breaks her heart. She tries to subtly get Stanford to fess up, to admit that he’s changed his mind, but he strings her along still, and who is waiting with all the words she wants to hear?

Ford is still hopping dimensions. He’s still on the run from Bill, still plotting Bill’s demise. Of course, putting Stanley in any danger is not his first choice, but at this point, ever leaving the dimension without her is also unacceptable. So he makes her an offer. They can leave today. He’ll get the false documents. He’ll marry her, they’ll get a boat, and until a rift opens up, they’ll have their dream life. Stan probably tries to give her brother one more chance, because after all, she loves the older Ford because she loves him. But Stanford doesn’t actually understand the stakes, and so he fucks up. In tears, Stan goes back to Ford’s apartment with her bags packed. She picks him.

Stanford is devastated and so furious. Stanley disappearing at the same time as their science teacher, it all makes sense now, all that attention he was giving to her, keeping her after school. Stanford didn’t trust him but he didnt think that pervert would go so far. He’s torn bc that creep must have kidnapped his sister, but also maybe she wanted it. Maybe she’s betrayed him and left him, like she always swore they would never do. Well fine, fine. She isn’t here any more. She can’t hold him back. WCT comes to see his project, and he’s accepted. He spends the next few years going through his programs, still at a fast pace, still throwing every scrap of his ambition into being seen and recognized.

Meanwhile, Stan and Ford are sailing on a yacht, bc Ford is going to make sure that she always sees him as the right choice, as the one who can give her everything she deserves. They’re sailing, they’re having adventures, Ford is still involved with the academic community but worldwide, going to and giving lectures, and Stan gets to see all these places, and it’s perfect. It’s amazing. And soon enough—not too soon bc Ford is impatient but he doesn’t want to harm her while she’s still so young—her stomach starts to swell with life. And Ford has never been more attracted to anything in his life. She’s utter perfection, gorgeous with the glow of pregnancy, and he’s the one who did that to her. His perfect sister, she took everything he gave her and is creating a family for them.

Fast forward to some conference or something. Ford is to be speaking, and Stanford is in attendance. The twins run into each other, and Stanford very nearly explodes on the spot. His sister’s stomach is huge, she’s so close to giving birth, and immediately all the anger he’s built up towards her is gone. He convinces himself on the spot that there is no way that she went willingly. That old pervert kidnapped her and has spent these past few years brainwashing her. This should never have happened. She should never be pregnant with another man’s child. It should be his. He tries right there to convince her that they can leave, he’ll save her, he’ll protect her and be with her and raise that child like it’s his own, and Stan is like lol funny thing about that

The working it out part is a mess. The Fords are so openly hostile to each other. They’d be attempting to beat each other to a pulp if Stan wasn’t standing between them. Stan decides that they should come clean, tell her brother about how Hank Forrester is actually a future version of him from an alternate dimension, and Stanford is livid. He’s so angry bc clearly his sister has loved him all along and this son of a bitch used that and manipulated the situation and it’s not fair. Stan should be his. That should be his baby she’s carrying so perfectly. Now that they’ve found each other again, now that Stanford knows everything, Stan doesn’t want to lose touch. She’s still Ford’s wife, but she doesn’t want to lose her actual brother again, which Ford hates. He hates that arrogant little shit, eyeing his wife, clearly trying to take what does not belong to him. He’s very openly affectionate with Stan, but he gets even more handsy, and it’s really a wonder no one gets shot or stabbed.

No excuses for this.

But he pushes through, treating every kiss with the attention it deserves, with the care he wants to show. He lets his lips linger and draw the younger man in. He lets his hands roam over a body that has far too much baby-fat for his tastes. The chub that a growing young man needs. The last few inches they’d both gained in the years they’d been apart, Ford had shed his extra weight for its purpose.

Stan had kept it, body going into starvation mode and collecting fat like there was no tomorrow. He misses the belly on his Stan, the tough muscle beneath it, the strength and slouch of his brother.

This Stan, barely eighteen, was just a shadow, a hint of who his brother would be. Of who his brother could be. It all depends on time and the timeline and a juxtaposition of time-travelers and multi-dimensional travelers and a whole slew of business Ford didn’t think about before coming here. 

This Stan was much younger than he wanted. But he was here. And Stan was alone, so he would make Stan not alone. 

He let himself be pushed down to the bed, the young, enthusiastic face he remembered barely remembering to smile convincingly. To flutter the thick eyelashes they’d shared, to remember to be enticing and pushy and everything he needs to be to fill his belly and fill his tank afterwards.

Ford pulls him in closer and rocks them so Stan is back-to-bed, a slight oof escaping him and Ford already pushing down, hips together, and languidly kissing this Stan. He’s already decided he’s going to keep him for a little longer. Now to convince Stan he should be kept. It shouldn’t be hard. His brother, in any of his forms, never had much self-esteem. A few well-placed words, a few well-placed compliments, and this one would be his.

He closes his eyes for a moment as he leans over Stan, feeling the wrongness to his very core before he takes a deep breath and exhales. He presses butterfly kisses across the bridge of his nose, to each eyelid, before moving further down to playfully bite but not mark the neck.

This is not his Stan. With the right guidance, maybe he will never be his Stan. Maybe he’ll be better off. Or maybe after they’ve parted Stan will have missed some essential lesson to survival by his time with Ford, and he will die. 

Ford listens to this Stan’s breath hitch and the low gasps of surprise and pleasure fall freely from his lips. Ford doesn’t even think they’re exaggerated for his bought benefit. Ford smiles into the kisses and says a few pretty words.

Stan’s eyes are bright and wide and ready to be molded. Ford shapes Stan’s body with his hands as he holds the young man in them. He will do what he can.
