2-D and Crona outfit swap!
I’ve had this sitting in my files because I’m a perfectionist, but honestly? I’m still not 1000% satisfied with this one. I redrew this like three times, and I'm still not happy with it. I’m always trying to grow and learn, even when I’m being my own toughest critic!
Anyway, which fit do we think looks better? 👀

Gorillaz theory regarding the plot of Phase 8
Sorry for mistakes, I use translator
Back in the previous phase, during the TikTok book club days, 2D read Hermann Hess's "Siddhartha." 2D is holding the same book during the interview.
The plot centers on a young Brahmin named Siddhartha and his friend Govinda. The respected and remarkable Siddhartha dedicates his life to finding the Atman, the One that exists within every person.
Siddhartha and Govinda are both seeking enlightenment. While the protagonist's friend follows the "standard" path to enlightenment, Siddhartha decides to forge his own path, disregarding old dogmas.
Perhaps 2D and Murdoch are a reflection of these characters? Although, as far as I understand, all members of the group strive for enlightenment.
The book also explores the conflict between asceticism and worldly pleasures, the importance of personal experience versus dogmatic teachings, and the concept of the oneness of all things.
Given that the group is stellar and extremely successful (and especially considering Murdoch, who was driven by a desire to make money), the conflict between materialism and asceticism will certainly be present in the plot.
Because Siddhartha decides to pursue enlightenment on his own, I think Murdoch will be closest to the protagonist.
A man drawing gay ship..? WHATTT
