Brody in his time, was a legend among the design industry. Famous for pushing creative boundaries in his design and typography work. He drew through inspiration from what he observed in his environment. Having lived in London during the peak of punk culture that rose from increasing employment in the nation. Brody utilised the scene as his source of inspiration for works such as ‘Face Magazine’ and like David Carson, he would also challenge the conventions of publication such as the grid. In short, Brody’s work today remains as a perfect metaphor for his time, a society/culture bent on wanting to break rules when the system has failed them, what came from Brody’s art was adaption and a refresh of the design industry.
