Our opinion is that if youâre a fictive/fictionkind you have all the rights to use your name even if itâs foreign, we dgaf, there are more pressing issues than a white-bodied person using a japanese name or whatever. Itâs hypocritical of us to say otherwise since we keep our (usually very japanese) source names
Can you tell how weâre afraid of even saying something like this on tumblr. This is the thing that we have fears of being cancelled for. Partially because of our country of origin not being the US or whatever and therefore not relevant to most people in the community (or so we fear).

If we want to come out as plural to someone, we have to be sure that theyâre at least ok with:
Gay or otherwise non-straight people
Trans people
Nonverbality
People identifying as fictional characters
Plural folks
People around us tend to fail the first 2 steps, and itâs not helping our pessimism. Successful offline coming out stories are basically in a completely different world from ours. Doesnât help that the majority of those stories that weâve seen are likely not even from our continent.
If we can only reveal the more âpalatableâ parts of ourselves to others (example, only say weâre plural but hide the fictional identities), whatâs the point in coming out then? The fictional (+ fact-IDs for the factives) identities are the most central parts of ourselves. Trans acceptance is also an important thing because weâre not an all-cisfem system. If we canât also reveal these more important aspects of ourselves, itâs better to just keep the closet shut tight.
(Open to comments, but if there are rebuttals to this, we donât wanna hear it from anyone living in the global north. We prefer hearing those from the same country as us, or maybe fellow SEAsians)
Gotta love being haunted by an incoming period that you canât predict at all because you have pcos, not helped by a high possibility that weâd be mega exhausted in the near future because itâs almost peak season at work and the (pre)menstrual problems are very likely to affect you at that time! /s

Do you ever see bits of discourse around here that tires you out because you can only go âwhy are we fighting about this. Why argue about whoâs more oppressed or trying to âsneak inâ to your circles. We really hate to be pessimistic to the point of saying âof course our country doesnât have its own local plural/alth communityâ but itâs really hard to think otherwise when we have never even tasted queer acceptance here
Nothing against people from there that we know of, but we canât help but feel a bit jealous of people from the global north because they seem to be more visible. A lot of them can come out and be accepted as they are. Weâre still stuck in âmen are from Mars, women are from Venusâ land. Even coming out as gay has a huge risk because to others, gay people are either weirdos or sex pests. Rainbow capitalism couldnât even exist here because pandering to queer people here is the easiest way to nuke your companyâs reputation
Even with us knowing about the horrid discrimination those other countries have faced, at the very least places like the US have experienced pride parades or rainbow capitalism at some point in their history. Pretty sure ours have never even been there to begin with
Thinking about how we want to talk about our opinions on plural stuff related to being not white but we have the feeling that tumblr would destroy us no matter what we say.
