  a  portrayal  defining  the  intricacies  of  fate.  fortuitous  encounters  &  their  reverberations.  the  concept  of  identity  &  it  determined  through  others  &  one’s  self.  the  stars  which  hold  unfathomable  truths  &  the  courage  it  takes  to  face  them.

LET’S TALK RELIGION .   I think the Æsir are not governed by a set religion ,  but are obviously free to follow any religion that resonates with them   ---------------   so Ásgarðr is a world brimming with multiple faiths and belief systems ,  obviously not all inspired by the religions on Earth ,  but instead ,  religions across the nine realms  (  and sometimes ,  even combinations of several religions   ---   I don’t think the Asgardians view religion as a  ‘ black or white ’  entity .   cherry - picking does happen ,  its meaning has more fluidity on their realm   ) .

when I was looking this up ,  most responses said that the Æsir    “  did not believe in religion because they were the Gods that were worshipped  ”   --   and while that makes sense ,  I do think there exist some foundational beliefs that all of Ásgarðr adhere to ,  even if it doesn’t exactly count as a religion .

the nornir ,  for example ,  who determine past ,  present and future of Gods and humans .   Asgardians believe that the greater events of their lives are mapped out ,  and unavoidable .   the most common being Ragnarök ,  the end of the world ,  which every Asgardian is aware of since childhood .    

there's also the belief of how the world came to be   ---   how Odin the Allfather created the nine realms as they exist today ,  with the remnants of the giant ,  Ymir .   and belief in the afterlife ,  in Valhalla for the righteous ,  and Hel for the wicked .   and Yggdrasil ,  of course   ---   the world tree ,  upon which all these realms exist ,  the foundations of it all .

but on a broader scale ,  like   ...   the Æsir know that they too are worshipped ,  and despite being called Gods ,  they are in fact just  ...  God - like    ---   rulers of all the realms ,  maybe ,  but certainly not the creators ,  the ones who breathe life and snatch it away .   that exists on its own accord ,  and they are as much receivers of this as others .   but there's something quite beguiling ,  endearing even ,  to hear about old religions that incorporate their existence .   and even to know that some parts of the world still worship them as Gods .

he doesn’t remember much ,  but some things are ingrained in his mind ,  though ,  owing to Mallika’s repetition towards the fact .    something Peter didn’t appreciate as a kid ,  being told over and over ,  but now ,  he can really show gratitude to having beliefs he can always remember .

knows of the three main deities   ----------------   Brahma , Vishnu and Shiva ,  their purposes ,  and the fact that he was raised in a household following Vaishavism ,  so Vishnu is his Supreme Lord

Peter prays to Vishnu ,  the Protector ,  every night

also to Lakshmi ,  before going on a job ,  hoping he’ll get the big bucks  kjfhksjfh

his mother made a strict point to ensure Peter prayed 3 times a day ,  at the very least .   now ,  Peter’s praying schedules are sporadic   ;   some days he prays 5 times ,  other days not at all 

believes in Samsara ,  reincarnation   ----------------   and is pretty sure he’s gonna return back as a rat or smth because he has not been a Great Person thus far .   is hoping the Guardians of the Galaxy can tip the scales in his favour 

is pretty soulful ,  owing to his belief in reincarnation but also dedication towards the spirit ,  making sure he’s spiritually at ease .   something that took time to master ,  especially as a kid ,  when his life was in turmoil and living with the Ravagers rarely gave him time to meditate on his thoughts ,  collect them together

there’s a little corner of Peter’s ship dedicated to his religion ,  a shrine where he can place offerings whenever he’s stopped on a planet .   it’s nothing fancy ,  a worn statue of Vishnu ,  around half the size of Peter’s forearm .   it’s something he purchased ages ago ,  as a teenager ,  from a random stall in Xandar

Hopefully this outfit was soft and fluffy enough. She had to match the booth’s theme after all. She was kind of sad that this outfit didn’t have enough color... So that’s why Sonja painted her nails pink and blue, like cotton candy! It was a soft ombre too, so it was extra cute.
