Ćššš Ā + Ā šššššššš .
LETāS TALK RELIGION . Ā I think the Ćsir are not governed by a set religion , Ā but are obviously free to follow any religion that resonates with them Ā --------------- Ā so Ćsgarưr is a world brimming with multiple faiths and belief systems , Ā obviously not all inspired by the religions on Earth , Ā but instead , Ā religions across the nine realmsĀ (Ā and sometimes ,Ā even combinations of several religionsĀ Ā ---Ā Ā I donāt think the Asgardians view religion as aĀ ā black or white āĀ entity .Ā Ā cherry - picking does happen ,Ā its meaning has more fluidity on their realmĀ Ā ) .
when I was looking this up , Ā most responses said that the ĆsirĀ Ā Ā ā Ā did not believe in religion because they were the Gods that were worshipped Ā ā Ā -- Ā and while that makes sense , Ā I do think there exist some foundational beliefs that all of Ćsgarưr adhere to , Ā even if it doesnāt exactly count as a religion .
the nornir , Ā for example , Ā who determine past , Ā present and future of Gods and humans . Ā Asgardians believe that the greater events of their lives are mapped out , Ā and unavoidable . Ā the most common being Ragnarƶk , Ā the end of the world , Ā which every Asgardian is aware of since childhood . Ā Ā
there's also the belief of how the world came to be Ā --- Ā how Odin the Allfather created the nine realms as they exist today , Ā with the remnants of the giant , Ā Ymir . Ā and belief in the afterlife , Ā in Valhalla for the righteous , Ā and Hel for the wicked .Ā Ā and Yggdrasil ,Ā of courseĀ Ā ---Ā Ā the world tree ,Ā upon which all these realms exist ,Ā the foundations of it all .
but on a broader scale , Ā like Ā ... Ā the Ćsir know that they too are worshipped , Ā and despite being called Gods , Ā they are in fact justĀ ...Ā Ā God - like Ā Ā --- Ā rulers of all the realms , Ā maybe , Ā but certainly not the creators , Ā the ones who breathe life and snatch it away . Ā that exists on its own accord , Ā and they are as much receivers of this as others . Ā but there's something quite beguiling , Ā endearing even , Ā to hear about old religions that incorporate their existence .Ā Ā and even to know that some parts of the world still worship them as Gods .
and of course , Ā with the notion of a God , Ā a higher power , Ā this manifests in belief in different ways . Ā there are some who believe in several , Ā others who believe in one , Ā some who believe in neither Ā ---Ā Ā Thor believes that God is everywhere . Ā an idea , Ā a reflection , Ā a component that exists within each living thing , Ā like a life force , Ā akin to a soul ig . Ā god is what you were before you were living your life , Ā the absolute basest level of whatever makes a being , Ā be .Ā and again ,Ā fluidity determines this for him ,Ā tooĀ Ā ---Ā Ā he may be proven wrong one day ,Ā or he may be right ,Ā but itās not something that dominates his time or his thoughts .Ā Ā heĀ (Ā and many other AsgardiansĀ )Ā Ā think religion is beautiful ,Ā and each system of belief forms a different side of a singular concept .
