[Q: Did your album help you get through difficult times?] Yes of course. In general, people write songs to escape and forget the hard times. So I can say that my album helped me.

Louis came over early to come and see me because I was really ill, so he came over to check that I was alright which was very kind of him. And we were just discussing the fact that we’d completely forgotten about tweeting for Niall’s birthday, so I was like 'I'll make sure I'll sing it out to him on stage' so I got that one covered in the end. We kinda bump into each other on the road as we're doing gigs. I think for him it was kinda weird watching my performance and me singing One Direction songs. It was a really beautiful moment when I sang ‘Little Things’, and the crowd knew that Louis was watching and they sang extra loud for his bits of the song, so it was really nice actually.

[Q: Does that mean you weren't yourself musically speaking before?] Not really, but when I thought about it, I thought that in the production of some songs that I released before, I felt like I had made the music that I thought I had to do, compared to music that I really wanted to do. The kind of music that goes on the radio nowadays. I let myself be worn by others. On this album, I can really say that I am 100% myself.
