よく寝たものの、疲れが取れていない気がする。今日でバイトの連勤が終わりだ。祝日で街は賑わっているけれど、人が死にそうな気温。

バイト先は暇で寂しい。事務作業を粛々と進めるけれど、パソコン作業は長くやり過ぎると気持ち悪くなってくる。

村上春樹の『国境の南、太陽の西』を読んだのが多分数年前で、最近よくあの本のことを思い出す。というかあの本に限らず、村上春樹のいろんな本に出てくる独特の雰囲気や名前のつかない歪な友情（と呼べるのかどうかも分からない結びつき）のことを。思い出しながら、物語の分岐を見守る共犯者のことを考える。自分には何か言葉にするべきことが、その余地のようなものがまだあって、それを告げるべき相手がいるような気がしてくるのだった。

パートナーは外で夕食をとったというので、帰って一昨日作ったトマトのパスタソースを温めて、一人分の麺を茹でて食べる。思ったよりも美味しい。作ったその日に食べた時より美味しい気がする。カレーみたいに寝かせた方が味が良くなるとかあるのだろうか。

映画『マグノリア』の好きな台詞がどんなんだったっけ、と思って、配信にあったから再生して該当部分を探す。何となく憶えていたよりも切実な話だった。そのうちまたちゃんと観たいな。

In order to hear God speak, we need to tune our ears (and heart) to Him.

“The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.” (‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭50‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Behold who you are worshipping;

In the light of his glory, what do you see about yourself; and

The more we recognise our bankruptcy, our frailty and our sinfulness, the more we will lean upon God.

I want to see you, Lord.

I want to hear you, Lord.

I want to commit to you, Lord.
