Queen Letizia's tribute to the Informe Semanal: "At 50, it was and is part of my life"

Queen Letizia wanted to appear this "special Saturday" at the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Informe Semanal program. And she has done so by confessing that she feels "great professional and intellectual modesty", since she was only "a summer substitute more than 20 years ago" in the program that "was always the dream of Information Science students" .
Letizia describes this space on public television in Spain as an "informative reference in recent history", and highlights the "calm look", the "careful approach" and the "contrasted information" of their reports. The queen also underlines the "honesty and credibility" of the information pieces that have served to "build and consolidate our democracy."
"Its reports helped to forge democratic values and transfer them to public opinion. Since then, Informe Semanal has not missed a single day from its appointment with Spanish society," she affirms, recalling all the professionals who make this program possible: filmmakers, producers, editors, cameras, journalists, reporters, those who are in the archives, in the image department, scriptwriters, technicians of all kinds... "To all those professional men and women, my thanks and that of a society that grew up under the spotlight of Informe Semanal".
The queen herself remembers that she went "on tiptoe" through the newsroom of the Informe Semanal, that she wanted to be a reporter for the program and that she did not succeed. But at 50 years old, she admits, "The Informe Semanal was -and is- part of my life."
