2017X x Reader & Fleetway x Reader platonic & romantic headcanons

Platonic -

2017X:

While 2017x does have "friends," he doesn't have friends. Not like you. While others are too disturbed by his behavior - or went against his delusions too much to make him comfortable in getting close - you stuck around.

You'd have to appeal a bit to the belief that he is sonic, but you would be spared from his occasional bouts of violence.

Your closeness with him would result in you seeing quite a different version of X than the one initially presented you with. X, the sonic-imitator, was much more energetic and prideful then X, your friend.

With you, he's awkward, quieter, more sensitive, and a little insecure.

He is incredibly guarded, both mentally and physically. Despite his belief that he is sonic, he wants others to believe so, too, so subconsciously he feels that he must prove it somehow.

He lets his guard down a little near you, but just as you start to see X's true self shine behind the cracks in the facade, he snaps back into his regular behavior, not acknowledging that it had happened in the first place.

Verbally affectionate almost exclusively. He might put a hand on your shoulder every now and then, but if you try to do the same thing or even something so simple as a pat on the back, you'll have him flinching as if you could possibly do anything to hurt him. He'd try and brush it off, but he'd always have a wild, almost panicked look in his eyes afterwards.

Might complain about the vessels to you. He's a bit of a gossip.

Fleetway:

It would be hard to match Fleetway's energy, but challenging things do not come without their rewards.

Once secured as a genuine friend, Fleetway is your ride-or-die. A bastard still, but a ride-or-die nonetheless.

He still has a fragile ego with you, so you can't really hit too close to home, but back and forth banter is Fleetway's method of showing appreciation for you.

He will annoy you for fun.

He hates it when people struggle to stand up for themselves, so if you're in conflict with someone but having confidence issues, He'll be the simultaneous hype man and devil on your shoulder. He boots you up while he encourages violence.

Will become a little protective of you. Fleetway may fight or intimidate someone giving you issues. But in secret. He doesn't actually want to know that he'd fight on your behalf.

Not a physically affectionate friend. He'll dodge you if you try. Or punch you in the shoulder.

Romantic -

2017x:

You're never getting rid of him.

He acts much more like his true self around you, with an extra layer of vulnerability, and less likely to self-correct back into his usual behavior.

More ok with physical touch. At the beginning of your relationship, he may be pretty stiff and awkward about it, but as time goes on he'll actually begin to seek it out and melt into it. You're just so much warmer than he is. You feel nice to hug.

Jealous, and a bit possessive.

May isolate you as a result.

Most affectionate when you two are alone. He doesn't enjoy PDA very much.

His abandonment issues really kick in during your relationship, he's horrified that you'll leave him.

In more quiet moments, when you two are alone, please tell him how much you love him. It validates him in your relationship so much and makes him feel really good.

He can be a total sweetheart when he wants to, despite his issues.

He wants you to stay so much, so he knows he has to treat you right! He loves to give gifts, and is incredibly attentive to you.

He hangs on to your every word, so if you mention you like something he'll likely remember.

Fleetway:

Possessive and protective on another level.

If you value the state of the world after you leave it, pray that you outlive Fleetway's violent impulses. While he isn't dependent on you, if you die in a manner that he feels he could have done something to prevent, he will destroy everything.

Tries to make an effort to be romantic, but isn't really good at it due to his chaotic nature.

May freak out a bit when you're hurt or sick. He's not really good with all that really fragile stuff but he'll try his best to take care of you.

He's a little hands-y. He likes to rest his arm around your shoulders, or have a hand on your waist or hip, or the small of your back. He's not shy letting other's know you're his, either.

While he can be quite energetic the majority of the time, winding down is a little easier now because of you.

Fleetway loves to lay on top of you with his chin resting on your chest while you pet the top of his head or run your fingers through his quills, crackling with painless static.
