When I spend time with you, I feel nostalgic, yearning for something I didn’t know I was missing. It’s like going through a long, cold, bitter winter, and then summer comes around and then I remember that I forgot how much I used to love popsicles. When I wake up next to you, I linger in decision about whether or not I should wake you, or if I should just let you sleep so I can study you, trace you with my fingers. I wonder how much of your face I can trace without disturbing you. If I can sketch you like a portrait or a novel, memorizing every articulation and every word, so that I remember you forever. So I can never miss you and not know it.
