summary: its Sarawat’s birthday and it seems like Tine forgot all about him.
Sarawat woke up and stretched his arm out to reach for his boyfriend sleeping beside him. Ever since they moved in together Sarawat was actually happy to wake up every morning and start his day with the love of his life. This morning though, when he reached over, the bed was cold and empty.
Quickly he sat up and glanced around the room and finding it empty, aside from a little sticky note placed on Tine’s pillow. Had to get up for cheer practice, see you later today. And at the bottom Tine had added a smiley face and a little heart. Sarawat smiled at that but was still sad to be alone, this morning especially since it was his birthday.
Sarawat checks his phone and notices a few messages wishing him a happy birthday but none from his boyfriend, maybe he was running late this morning and forgot? He tried not to think about it too much.
After changing and brushing his teeth he padded downstairs where he noticed his favorite drink waiting for him on the counter with another note. Don’t forget to eat breakfast! Cute, but still a little weird for Tine to not mention Sarawat’s birthday. Sarawat shrugged it off and took a swig of the drink before heading out to class.
Sarawat sat down before any of his friends got to class; he took out his phone and thought about texting Tine when Man and Boss walked in being louder than normal.
“Happy Birthday!” both of them yelled. Sarawat tried to keep his cool but couldn’t help the grin that snuck its way onto his face.
“Shut up, you guys are idiots.” Sarawat responded as the two took a seat on either side of him.
“Don’t be so pouty, I’m sure you had a nice birthday morning with your boyfriend.” Man said giving him a sly look.
“Actually I haven’t seen him today.” Wat said going quiet.
“What do you mean? You guys live together now.”
“He had to get up early for cheer practice.”
“Are you sure? I didn’t think there was any practice today.” Before Sarawat could ask what that mean the teacher came in and their conversation ended.
The entire class though Sarawat couldn’t concentrate, why would Tine lie to him? That was really unlike him and Wat couldn’t only think the worst. Was moving in to fast? Was his brother not liking him a bigger deal than he let on? Is this about Mil? His mind was going a mile a minute when Boss nudged his shoulder.
“You okay? Class is over.” He said gesturing to the empty classroom. Sarawat just nodded and grabbed his stuff to leave.
Sarawats stomach grumbled, reminding him that he skipped breakfast even if he was told not to, and headed to the canteen. He sat down with some food and felt his phone go off; he got a message from Tine. He opened it feeling like he could finally calm down from this mornings’ stress but then he read the message.
Type is coming over tonight to help me on a project, could you give us some time alone?
Sarawat stared at the message. Is Tine really kicking him out of his own place? Their place?
Yeah of course, do you want me to drop off any food?
No its okay! I’ll let you know when we are done <3
Sarawat wanted to enjoy the cute emoji his boyfriend sent him but he felt like his heart was in his shoes. Suddenly he no longer had an appetite and went to throw his food away and find a place to be alone. He felt that familiar pull at the back of his throat letting him know tears were going to start spilling out.
Quickly he made it to the music room, no one would be there at this time of day, and let his emotions take over. He felt like things were going so good but maybe he was pushing Tine too much, maybe he needed to take a step or two or ten back.
Wat took a deep breath, wiped his face and grabbed for a guitar nearby. If he was going to have to go the rest of his birthday alone he needed to find comfort somewhere. He strummed the chords to start of one of his favorite songs, his favorite because it was Tines favorite. A few tears welled up as he mumbled the words to himself.
Somehow Sarawat managed to fall asleep in the music room. The mix of not eating and the crying made him exhausted and he woke up to his phone ringing like crazy.
“Hello” he answered not looking at his caller ID.
“Finally!” He heard what sounded like Man on the other end. He heard some mumbling like the phone was being passed to someone else.
“Wat? Where are you?” This time he knew it was Tine.
“Tine? I’m in the music room, why where are you?” Sarawat was confused and still not quite awake.
“Okay I’ll be there soon.” Tine hung up without any explanation. Sarawat didn’t think that this day could get any weirder but decided to sit tight until Tine showed up.
“There you are.” He heard Tine burst through the door. Sarawat sat up and Tine came over to kneel in front of him. Wat didn’t say anything as Tine grabbed his face.
“Wat have you been crying? Why are you hiding out in the music room?” Tine asked concerned.
“You told me to stay away” He purposefully avoided the question about him crying.
“When have you ever listened to me?” Tine smiled at him, dropping his hands to the top of Sarawats legs.
“I just thought..Boss and Man said there was no cheer practice and then you mentioned your brother..maybe I was pushing you too much. Maybe we were going too fast.” Wat trailed off a little, not able to look Tine in the face.
“Boss and Man were right there is no cheer practice, and I also lied about my brother coming over.” Tine said truthfully. Sarawat felt his heart stop.
“I left early because I had to go shopping and get stuff ready for the surprise tonight.” He finished.
“Surprise?” Sarawat looked up at Tine.
“You really thought I forgot about your birthday?” Tine said reaching his hand up to cup Sarawats face, Sarawat leaned into the touch.
“I did yeah, that might have been stupid to think.” He confessed.
“Always so quick to sulk instead of talk to me.” Tine said rubbing his thumb across his cheek. Sarawat just leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Tines mouth.
“I’m sorry.” He mumbled against his lips. Tine kissed him back.
“It’s okay.” And finally Sarawat was able to smile because he had his boyfriend in his arms.
