โขOn rare occasions the red markings may be replaced with yellow, or the forewing is entirely red with a black border, or the wings are completely black
โขThey are brightly colored as a warning sign, because they taste so bitter they're practically inedible to anything that can process taste. They are near-never prey because of this :)

Cannibalistic caterpillars are not something I would ever expect to find interesting, yet here we are. The color variation is interesting, also.
