I have learned that broadcasting is limited by time and print media is limited by space because most of the news organizations produce more than they can show huge amounts of text and image materials all times.

- Once an incident happens and there is enough information they can immediately post it on to the web. For example, a president can show up on TV and declare war and before he finishes his speech, the information could immediately have posted on the web and also reactions can be available on the same time.

It is not-profitable for news organisations to run websites using their regular “advertising-supported model.” Advertisers have access to more precise advertising platforms and readers are unwilling to pay for news online because they can find it elsewhere for free. Nonetheless news organisations are forced to ensure their online presence to stay competitive and relevant in the minds of audiences as they turn to the web for news. This is necessary, at least until the magic formula for building a “sustainabl[y] economic organisation that serves its readers online” has been concocted.

What I learned from the chapter is the certain factors being addressed that eases the process of obtaining news. These factors include immediacy which addresses how it is less time consuming to read the news and to stay up-to-date with it if it is available online rather than having to wait until the next issue of the newspaper to read the news. Another factor is flexibility which talks about how there are several forms of multimedia on the internet and finally permanence which describes how everything posted online is stored automatically and easy to refer back to. 

Most of news organizations actually produce more than they can show or print. Broadcasting is limited by time and Print media is limited by space. However, the Web races past these problems because of its ability to keep and show huge amounts of text and image material.

One thing I learnt from the textbook reading was The Web provides permanence to the content stored on it. Before the invention of the Web the consumers used audiotape, videotape or paper as a storage means but this means would deteriorate over time. The invention of the Web allows the users to store their content automatically and permanently without the fear of being deteriorated. Thus the content can be made available for the consumers anytime they want to demand it.
