Wanted to see if I could do something in the style of my Processing sketches and game-ify it. It ended up being a puzzle game based on the idea of an abstract dial lock. Maybe it's a dial lock from the future where it incrementally shoots energy particles from the core and only opens when all the cells have been hit. Maybe it's nothing like that at all. You decide!

NeoSpace Trampoline

How to Play: Try to reach the shiny platform at the top as fast as you can! Every platform is a neo trampoline. The platform turns red as soon as you land. How red it is determines how high it will launch you when you jump again. Try to jump while it's still as red as can be! There are rails for you to grind towards your destination, if you are feeling up to the challenge!

"NeoSpace Trampoline" aka "I wish I had an oculus rift and a strong stomach" is my first game for the Game a Week challenge. I guess it's not so much a challenge, but more of a mindset to get yourself into. Kind of like creating a sketchbook for games. In short, making one game a week (in addition to all my other crazy projects) is an awesome opportunity to try many different ideas and learn many different things.

I had a checklist of things I wanted to learn how to work with:

First person 3D (check!)

Trampolines (check!)

Grinding on rails (kinda check!)

Speed lines (check!)

It was definitely really refreshing to be able to take breaks from my current projects to work on this. Even though it's not a polished game, maybe even barely a game at all, I definitely feel like I learned a lot (this is my first 3D game!). Now let's see how many weeks in a row I can actually stick to this...
