I have read some of your posts today on your thoughts about Action1D and I felt compelled to write this,I'm not sure youâll even see it but, hey!
From your posts today I get the distinct impression you are not supportive of the bands Action1D campaign?
Which is fine, everyone is entitled to an opinion on it.
What hasn't sat well with me is you are founder/creator of 1DFansGive. A fan run initiative that has raised a heck of a lot of money for various charities since itâs creation. Â I donât understand how you in good conscience can run such a campaign when you cannot support a huge worldwide campaign in which could be the foundations in creating a better/world and future for generations to come.
You have stated in your posts you are an older fan. As an older fan you should be able to see just how far the world/society can come when people push for change.
I was discussing this with someone on Twitter who very kindly pointed me in the direction of this video to highlight just how just ONE person can make a change.

One man managed to change South Africa.
Imagine what a fanbase of millions could do if they put their minds to it?
In this post ( http://gossip-candy.tumblr.com/post/123582857987/1d-where-you-can-have-your-band-members-tweet ) you talk about a tweet a âband memberâ made that was decidedly negative, and you say that it makes you uncomfortable that the band is now supporting a campaign that includes inequality. There has to be EQUAL rights for EVERYONE, regardless of Race,Gender and sexual orientation. Just look at how much the world has changed in 20 years, Same sex marriage is an actual thing. Thatâs a huge step forward. The world is changing and will continue to change, as long as people continue to push for the change. As an older fan, look at how much change has happened in your own life time. A lot has happened as I stated over the past 20-30 years.Â
The Action1D campaign is not about the now, itâs about inspiring future generations to want to change the world they live in and make it a better place for all. As an older fan myself,I fully admit I probably wonât see or benefit much from what the boys are trying to do with this campaign. But my future kids will,my god sons will.
This isn't about the now itâs about the future.Â
You state in this ( http://gossip-candy.tumblr.com/post/123582457432/hey-amy-1-went-to-your-blog-b-c-felt-like-i-was ) response that you are not going to make a video and you feel the whole thing is a PR stunt. Hey guess what I am not going to make a video, but I will be encouraging and supporting fans who wish to as itâs an important but small step to help the next generation.
And again with this post ( http://gossip-candy.tumblr.com/post/123582182297/hey-amy-you-rock-you-speak-the-truth-re-1daction )Â
Without the fans donating 1DFG would not be as successful as it has been. ( http://gossip-candy.tumblr.com/post/123580656317/in-regards-to-your-posts-about-this-id-action )Â
You run a fan initiative which supports/promotes charities, yet you cannot support a  huge band run initiative.  Your initiative is the second biggest in the fandom behind Rainbow Direction, who are supporting it as they realise the impact it can have on the future. RD is run by older fans too, but they see the potential good it could do for the future.
So to close Amy, please think about 1DFG, and support this through your initiative even if personally, you donât give a s*** about it. You are the face of 1DFG , people look to you as you've created such an amazing thing in 1DFG and itâs admirable but to not promote this through 1DFG would be a mistake.
