Woodstock: Music from the Original Soundtrack and More (199?)
My father had long hair through much of his high school teaching career (and has grown it out again since then). One of his fellow teachers used to tease him by telling his students to ask Mr. Allmyalbums about the time he went to Woodstock, and my dad would spin a fake story or say that no one who was there actually remembers it (he didn't go to Woodstock - by the time he and his friends heard about it, it was almost over).
What a hell of a show that must have been, though. Not all of the music is to my taste, and the hippie ethos kind of gets on my nerves sometimes, but oh man. Just a huge crowd of people enjoying music together, looking after each other, with no corporate interest pulling the strings. The Hendrix performance at the end still sends chills down my spine.
Dunno when the CD was actually released but my parents had it in the 90s and it was originally a 3-disc LP.
