Project Runway: 18.8 Sheer Genius (Top Looks)
Designer: Sergio Guadarrama
As much as I hate Sergio (and god, do I!), I don’t begrudge him this particular win. His dress is beautifully made and actually fulfills the point of the challenge. Also, the fringe is perfect. I love any look with fringe. And Sergio didn’t even have an annoying, only tangently related political passage with this dress! Yay!
Designer: Nancy Volpe-Beringer
I love Nancy, and I love seeing her on the top! I’m glad Dd has finally gotten their prom dress. They truly rock it! I’m not crazy about the ruffle around the collar, but I understand why it’s necessary. It gives the dress a dramatic effect.
Designer: Marquise Foster
Marquise, my babe, is back on top after being eliminated and brought back after Dayoung had to withdraw from the competition. I love his dress. I think his model looks great; the silhouette is flattering to her curves. I also lov point e that he picked this print and made it shine. The print also make the sheerness of the fabric feel more playful and less risqué. Overall, it’s a triumphant return for Marquise. I’m so glad he’s back and making excellent looks.

[13x1 vs 18x8] Emily monologue, with same mood
"...so take your rest. You've earned it. But when we get back, wheels up" / "And every time we feel tired, we are gonna remember where she is, and what she's going through. And then we're going to get back to work."

I want to do a shot every time Sergio brags about how technically advanced he is over the other designers.
Victoria is once again not doing what the challenge says and blaming it on language barriers. I’m so done with her.
Project Runway: 18.8 Sheer Genius (Safe Looks)
Designer: Delvin McCray
I’m very conflicted on Delvin’s look. On one hand, I absolutely love his skirt. It plays with sheerness while still being sleek and sophisticated. The skirt clearly had a concept behind it. The top, however, feels like a complete afterthought. I like Delvin’s instinct of having a cropped top and showing some skin because it helps him avoid this look being matronly. I just wish the top was more elaborate with cups like a bustier instead of just being a simple band crop top. That would make the look feel more finished and elegant, matching it with the skirt.
Designer: Brittany Allen
I will give props to Brittany for at least being original and picking a vivid color in the sheer challenge. Pink certainly makes her look stand out on the runway. However, I will also not apologize for hating. The shade of pink is too pink. It’s Barbie pink, and the pleating and the extrageated sleeves are just overkill. It just doesn’t feel like something a grown up would wear.
