It's Complicated
Always a good day to post Whistlejacket's portrait. Because THIS is not a painting of a horse, is a full portrait.
I know people get deeply amazed when finding other works like 'Ophelia', by Sir John Everett Millais at the Tate Britain (I did too!), but entering the room where Whistlejacket is with no background and in life size is breathtaking.

To be fair, you have to have a very high degree of learning to understand Tristram Shandy. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of hobby-horses most of the jokes will go over a typical reader's head
