Maybe it is purer and enough on its own to feel for someone from afar, knowing that having a relationship with them -- in the complexity of human nature and the destinies of relationship -- would actually spoil their essence.

I am incapable of ironing quickly. It's a good practice because so many of my clothes come off of the drying rack all wrinkly, but I feel the need to address each and every wrinkle. It took so long I had to take a break for dinner and by the time I was finished, the sun had dipped below the houses and the parasol was protecting me from nothing.
