Rule 1: Stand Up Straight With Your Shoulders Back
-This rule demonstrates the importance, of being and looking confident. Standing up straight does noy only mean you are confident. It also means that you are not threathened for you have put yourself in a much more vulnerable position, and yet you are not threaned by the dangers of those whom/what you encounter. The author, Jordan B. Peterson, have explained this in a fascinating manner. He compared the neurological structure of lobsters to us humans. It turns out that we have a lot in common to these crustaceans. We both stand up straight when confident, unthreathened, and victorious. Both female human and female lobsters are attracted to successful male human and male lobsters. Even the hormones that govern their confidence and competence are also the same. So back to the notion of posture. This posture signals people that you are confident and healthy right? That notion also applies to these lobsters. By manuevering this posture to themselves, they make their appearance bigger and intimidating to scare off their enemy. This posture is always present in the "weigh-in" of boxing where the 2 boxers would stand face to face while staring down the each other after weighing-in. Both fighters are standing straight with their shoulders back to let their opponents know that he's not threathened and is ready to fight. When the fight has arrived and a victor has rose. I bet you, the posture of this fighter is as straight as hell,(also pounding he's chest aggresively and excessively). This is how the victor would act because that win caused a surge of testosterone and serotonin in his brain which brighforth an aggresive and irritating behavior. While the loser, is humbled, sad, and may be even depressed for weeks. This phenomena is also present to lobsters whearein the former dominant lobster would have his brain shrinked and transforming it to a more inferior one, it simply could not cope to the sudden shift of status. This new brain structure causes him to crouch and hide, making himself smaller, for his new brain tells him that everyrhing is a threat. But if it is injected with serotonin, it goes back to its original self, even stronger. Same for us humans, when we learn how to increase our serotonin, we too could feel how much more confident and competent we can be. One way to instantly increase our serotonin is to stand up straight with your shoulders back. That shit signals your brain to produce serotonin.
The dominance heirarchy have been here much longer than us humans. It is deeply engraved in our individualities, it is real and it is there, and we are aware of it. We size people up and then decide how to act in their presence. People that are in the top of the dominanace hierarchy have high serotonin production. These are confindent, happy, and people. While people at the botoom, are people that have very low serotonin production. These people are stressed, sad, incompetent, and bullied. Most of them feel depressed and useless. One of the main reasons that a person feel such way is their routines. Their routines are daily doses of chaos. They don't schedule, they don't plan, and all their shit are chaotic. That uncertainty paralizes them. One way to fix that is to correct the pattern of sleeping and eating. Also, eating a fatty and protein-rich breakfast could be of great help. These kind of meals help a person to have a more sustained energy through out the day. No carbs, no sugar for that causes insulin spike and hypoglicemia making their hormones imbalanced leaving them unstable or irriatable. Some of these people are overly agreeable, they don't disagree, they are naive and easily exploited. These people do not have what it takes to say no. They mistake anger as an inappropriate emotion. They could not be angry on anyone until they explode with resentment. If you're on of these people, one way to improve your situation is to try to say "no" to something or someone, mean it, and stand by it.
