Yuletide has begun! Day 1 of 12 On the shortest day of the year, I light a yellow candle of peace a creativity to remeber the custom of the yule log and how a villages ideas and drive lead them through the darkest of times long ago. Many years ago, when the winters where deadly cold, much worse then what we have now. One year was so bad that this village, whos name and location has been lots to time and legend, had lost all their livestock from being frozen to death, the food stores had spoiled and the village had nothing to eat and nothing to keep themselves warm. They walked for miles into the forest, hoping to find help, but the snow was so thick they knew it would consume them. When all hope was nearly lost, they banded together and discussed how could they survive, here and now, what could they do? Untill one of them noticed this huge thick tree that had been feld by the winters storm, it roots karled and twisted, its branches that once reached the sky now laying limp on the ground. "We can burn the tree! It will keep us warm and help melt the snow so we can drink. " So they did. That large tree burn for 12 days and 12 nights, keeping the villagers alive to drink the melted snow, to hunt for food and to keep them warm through these harsh times. It then became a tradition to cut down the biggest tree they could find and keep it burning for those 12 days. As the years went on this tradition morphed and changed from a tree to a long on the fire place, and from a literaly log, to a cake log, when the wonders of modern life meant we no longer relayed of the warmth of a fire to keep us going. Let us remeber those ansestors and let us remeber our roots this day and spread a little light, with a little yellow candle ^^ I hope you all feel inspired to give somthing new a try today and create somthing that might help you in the days to come ^^ Blessed Be! #yuletide #12daysofyuletide #yellowcandle #creativity #Blessedbe #yulelogorigin https://www.instagram.com/p/CJENupFLKoZ/?igshid=gzyvi3s41r0f
