“How’s Sirena holding up?” Luca asked as he stood beside Selene at the bar, waiting on a beer he’d ordered quite a while ago now. He couldn’t help but feel for her, having lost two sisters in one foul swoop. “Obviously not well, but, how is she?”

She’d had too many vodkas and too many cigarettes, so her voice was scratchy and her eyes were red when she looked over from her hiding spot in the corner of the room.

“They have tiny little burgers” Luca pointed out, as he nodded towards one of the trays of food passing by. “And tiny little hot dogs” he continued, listing off all the food so Hestia could pick some things and he could go off and retrieve them for her.

She was drowning, in alcohol and grief. This had been her first outing since the end of the games. She had been hidden away in her victors mansion in eleven ever since, reading through all the books she had been assigned for her next semester, refusing to speak to anybody who tried.

Honey. It wasn’t Honey though, just a face that matched hers. Fuck. She’d forgotten about Clem, forgotten how fucking identical they were, forgotten how much it would hurt just to see her in the flesh only to know it wasn’t her in there, just a sweeter version, a version she didn’t fall for.

Abel spotted Ashton across the room and smiled to himself, having lost him for a while after they’d been pulled away from each other. He made his way over, sliding up to him from behind so that he could wrap his arms around his waist from behind and interrupt his conversation with a well known sponsor, one that Abel knew liked to flirt.
