#1275cc

Bought myself a tidy 1300 A-Series engine yesterday complete with head cylinder, 4 speed syncro gearbox with 3.1 dif, flywheel, and clutch plate for £110. The next 6ish months will be spend stripping it down checking all the different parts, re-assembling it , painting it and polishing it ready for a November/December fitting. Also in this time completing a full strip down and rebuild of a HIFF44 Carb with new springs, jets, etc.

Coincidently this happened at a time when I'm reaching the end of the first year of my apprenticeship and moving onto starting my HNC meaning i already have a project i can document to make life a little bit easier. 

Its early days yet but I’m confident that with the help of the lads in the club that this bargain of an engine will make it into concourse conditions for the shows of next year. 

On a plus note it will shit all over the thou that currently powers my Mini, and will mean i can easily keep up with the other 1275′s without blowing the head in future. Best bit is that i can save my old engine ready for building a nice little runaround for my other half .
