#109 chapter 1

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IN THE UNIVERSE!

Kaneko Yoshi, with a shock collar around his neck, is presented with four cages in front of him. Monokuma presents the challenge, pick which one of the four stole a treat from the treatbag! It'd be as easy as picking out a puppy with a guilty face, right? Nothing the Super High-School Level Pet Detective can't handle! There would be a penalty for an incorrect answer, though, of course. The cages open, and out step the suspect pups. There was only one problem. They were all mechanical. Expressionless. Impossible to detect any emotion. Yoshi's eyes dart between the line of unusual suspects, before a beeping is heard.

Monokuma reveals a countdown clock, presenting a time-limit to help the young, budding talent along in his decision, just a liiiittle push. Thirty seconds... his eyes shift between the four of them desperately, twenty... his fingers tighten into his palms, ten... he can’t focus on a single button for more than... five, four three... Running out of time, Yoshi panics and picks one of them in the hopes that he could be right. With a mere two seconds left on the clock, Monokuma puts the clock away and reveals the answer! He jumps as a low voltage of electricity shocks him. All of the dogs look up at Yoshi, their mechanical, cold eyes flash red. They were all guilty. Every last one, including him, especially him. The penalty is initiated, and the hounds bare their jagged, metal teeth, rushing toward him.

Before any of them could jump at him, though, a fifth cage door opens, revealing a yellow Labrador retriever that stands next to Yoshi. His eyes widen, immediately recognizing the dog, and without thinking he takes her into his arms. The collar shocks him (as well as the dog) again, but he refuses to let go as the four identical machines circle them, biting and clawing at Yoshi and his dog, one managing to rip his... entire leg off, another pulling him in one direction as the final two rip Biscuit out of his arms and away from him. As he reaches out to try and grab her...

An elevator car drops from the ceiling, crushing Yoshi beneath it as Biscuit is thrown and shoved around by the robots. The dog’s final movements are slow shifts toward the elevator, and the execution ends as she gives her owner one final ‘paw’, resting it over Yoshi’s limp hand.
