So uh, about that pascal support drop...
oh yeah that sucks, I still have a 1050 Ti. It's not only the Pascal series though, older ones got dropped as well.
As @arch-official posted on their news blog, if your graphics card is affected too, and updating to the nvidia-open / nvidia-open-dkms packages, you should switch to the nvidia-580xx-dkms drivers instead.
I tried that and honestly? it sucks. My monitor and refresh rate are recognized but the driver is shitty and transparency is a nightmare with it. Having one Konsole window open lags the whole desktop.
So I went to the nvidia website and just downloaded their driver from there. If my card doesn't recieve any updates anymore, no reason to have my package manager handle it. Installed the driver with the script nvidia provides, skipped sanity checks, and everything is working as it should
So if your graphics card happens to be affected too, just use the drivers from the official website.
