How to request an OC for me to draw (Guide)
Since I been asked (In request) before to draw OCs, most will give a basic rundown.
but not everyone knows how or why they should do that, but if you want me to draw your OCs, well, you either give it to me properly or I’m not doing it, since it would be basically a free commission, ¿and you won’t even give me important info that I can’t work without? Yeah, no.
The best way to make me want to draw your OC or OCs is;
(There's no need to do everything or make it super complete, but, the more the better, just make sure to leave a bit of room to breath, "*" for how important)
Remember to keep it safe for work, and add triggers if necessary!
1: Basic intro ***
2:Reference sheet of some kind (art wise). ***
2: How much can I alter them? ***
3: Basic description of their personality and how they are. **
3: Their taste and style. **
4: What kind of world do they live in? **
5: Relationships and family (kind of Optional) *
introduce your OC, basic things like, name, gender/pronouns, specie, race, etc.
2:Reference sheet of some kind (art wise).
What’s a reference sheet you say?
A reference sheet is a drawing that shows the characters and the details of it, this drawing or drawings, have barely to no shading or effects, that makes the artist that that has to draw the character/s have easy access to colors and a good visibility to all or most details of the design and to keep it consistent.
bonus point if the reference drawing has a section with the colors used and a note attached to them of where they are used (In some places folks add the hex code next to it, just in case, Hex codes are a code of numbers and letters that all digital programs use to referee to colors)
If you don’t have any, give me a few drawings where the character can be seen.
2: How much can I alter them?
Can I make a redesign of them? Change their clothing? How much or how little, this question can rage from, just altering colors to making a whole new design, and yes, you can ask for your OC/s to be for example redesigned into a different specie for example, like: “Can you make my OC as a Digimon?”
3: Basic description of their personality and how they are.
How are they normally? Are they a kind and respectful person? Are they like that with everyone? Or are they only like that when they are already friends or acquittances? Or the reverse?
Do they like people? Are they social? Asocial?
4: What kind of world do they live in?
What is the world they live in like? Are they from an already existing franchise? An AU, Timeline, etc? Do they live in a hot place, cold? Where they raised there? What’s their culture like?
5: Relationships and family (kind of Optional)
Are they good at keeping relationships? Are they good at making them? Do they easily get along with other? Or do they take a really long time to interact with others? Do they have a family? Do they treat their friends like a family? Do they think family is the most important thing?
Make me want to care about your OC/s, talk about them, make me love them like you love them, make me hate them as much as you do, and don't worry about doing ALL, you only need to give me an aproximation of it, like don't know what to say? no worries, the problem is if you give me, well, nothing.
The trick is finding the point between being too demanding and giving nothing.
